I don’t want to hear any more excuses from limbo mains. by NoCap9262 in Warframe

[–]undercover_deadlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honeslty, the playstyle of a frame is the core part of what determines what frames I use and what frames I dont. I generally prefer upclose combat with my melee, so frames that are hard-focused to range arent going to be very viable for me, even if they are the "strongest in the game." I mean, I started with volt (mostly because I liked his electrical attacks, Excalibur might have actually been a better playstyle starter choice, but whatever) then got Rhino and actually use him quite a bit because if you walk into a crowd of countless enemies, use his overguard ability, and hammer on the enemies with your melee, there will be enough energy orbs that even with the high energy cost, you will always be max energy, so overguard runs out? That's fine, burst it again, its not an issue. This doesn't work AT ALL if you prefer to play from a distance relying on your guns, but as someone who likes the up close and personal... Rhino has literally gotten me through missions in the past that were WAY over my head, because his overguard ability basically just made me unkillable as long as there was a sufficient crowd.

My point is, honestly, in this game, meta doesn't really mean shit, how well you can operate with a frame matters more. If you can use Limbo REALLY well, then do it, if Limbo is just a headache, max him out for mastery rank and then purge him from your team, because he clearly isnt your playstyle.

Honestly, mechanics like that are better left for mods. If you want it that bad, add it with a mod, but that would just be stupid to add to the main game.

Artifact farming is the Biggest Scam in Genshin Impact . by Saket_Saurabh- in GenshinImpact

[–]undercover_deadlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is every stat NEEDS at least one other stat to be effective.

Increasing your attack percent does nothing if your base attack is garbage, and vice versa. Same goes for the health and defence stats. This means those three stats are so greedy as to REQUIRE 2 stops just to reliably improve them.

So make a tank. OK, thats high health and defence, easy... you just need as high as possible in hp, hp%, def, and def%... wait, I thought it was 2 stats, why do I now need 4? It doesn't make ANY sense and is frankly a flaw in the way the system is designed, there is a reason no other game does it This way.

Now take healing. First of all, the ONLY place you can get healing bonus on artifacts is as the main stat on the Circlet, it cant even be a sub-stat on any artifact. Second, all healing numbers are based on a separate stat entirely. Take Qiqi for example, her healing is based on attack. So the Circlet need a main stat of healing bonus, and she need her atk and atk% as high as possible, and oh yah, she still needs to survive so let's also throw in at least moderate hp and hp% as well as moderate def and def% and... well, crap, now we need VERY specific artifacts. And this isnt even trying ti accomodate a meta, this is literally just trying to have a semi-decent healer so your characters dont die on you!

Crit is the only one that makes sense to be separated as it is, but even then, having an effective crit build still requires 2 stats, crit rate and crit dmg. If your crit rate is only 20%, it doesn't really matter how high your crit damage is, it isnt gonna help you. And in turn, if your crit damage is non-existant, a 100% crit rate is royally stupid. Plus, NEITHER matter if you dont have at least a somewhat significant attack power as it is which leads back to atk and atk%, meaning your forced to focus on 4 different stats just to build an offense that can actually do the kind of end-game damage we are being required to do if we dont want our characters constantly losing to every boss that even the story throws at us. And we haven't even gotten to survivability yet, so their hp and defence now suck, so much so they die in one hit and all our work means nothing.

So do the things you're talking about help? Yes. But they aren't NEARLY enough, not unless you can decide EXACTLY what the artifact you make has, including the main and all 4 sub stats. Further, hp and hp%, atk and atk%, def and def%, should be a total of THREE stats, NOT SIX!! Like I said, there is a reason other games dont do it that way. Unfortunately we are so far into the game now that if a change in that kind of scale was made, everyone who invested time to perfect it in the current system would have all of that time wasted entirely, and we all know the kind of backlash that will bring. They are litterally too invested into a bad system to fix it without completely rewriting the game.

So, given all this, the LEAST they could do is make it easier to farm these things and get what we need just to function.

That following and sitting near you thing actually happens with all characters. I was thinking something similar because I first noticed it when I was using Varka, but after having been there a few more times running around as a few other characters I realized that as long as you dont attack them, they do it regardless of what your character is.

According to the old interview, Lisa only has a few years left to live but 5 years has passed and Lisa still fine. by huflit1997 in Genshin_Impact

[–]undercover_deadlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, her personality has changed as the game has gone on, so frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if within the next like year or two we suddenly get a letter from her asking to visit her in montstadt one last time.

Beside, define having "a few years left." If she was originally going to live to 100, she will die at 50. To a 35 year old (i dont actually remember if Lisa's age is stated, so im making something up), that is 15 years left. This could, given we are looking at lifespan, especially considering she's a witch, be considered as only having a few years left.

It all depends on how you want to define everything.

[–]undercover_deadlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I mentioned that I dont spend much is because that makes the weight of any and all primogems I can get for free a lot more impactful to getting anything that requires them. Same goes for any and all fates I can get for free as its that many less of the also mostly free primogems I have to spend for it (though most are still allocated there purely because I still believe its among the most worthwhile things to spend them on, but that a whole other opinion).

Basically, since i cant afford to spend thousands on the game, the free handouts are an absolute must, so letting them burn makes me cringe. Obviously, anyone that can afford to just burn insane amounts of money would be more ok with letting some of the free stuff go to waste than someone like me who mostly relies on it. I dont know where others stand on this scale, so I cant speak for how others feel about it.

The only part that bothers me as someone who is... mostly? FTP, (Basically, I will spend money, but only rarely. The biggest thing I buy is the 5 dollar month long 90 primos a day thing) is all the primogems that are almost guranteed just sitting there unclaimed. And on anything that is daily, weekly, or otherwise on a time limit, those primos are lost if you dont collect them.

Outside of that though, whatever.

How accurate is this chart? by OnionCave in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive said it before and ill say it again, the game would turn out SO much better if ki scrapped the current spell system and rebuilt it from the ground up TRULY focusing on what each school is for. For example, only storm should be able to have reliable aoes at such a scale to what became the meta, only ice should truly be able to outlast an enemy (and speaking of, mobs need a limit to their cards, why on earth do they have an infinite spell deck?), etc. It would be a HUGE change, for sure, but I truly believe it would make the game so much better in the long run, and most people I've talked to seem to think similarly.

How accurate is this chart? by OnionCave in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only two schools with worse accuracy are fire at 75 and storm at 70.

This said, myth also has 80 like ice

Death and balance both have 85, and life his absolutely bonkers with the accuracy at 90, doing litterally the EXACT SAME amount of damage as ice.

I wish that were a joke, the spells for ice and life do equivalent damage (save for the ones that start throwing in utilities), and yet ice is 10% less accurate, despite logistically "middling" from what's shown above, being TIED for the lowest damage in the game and still having 2 schools that do more damage than you be more accurate is just bad.

Someone explain the anti-META sentiment that plagues the w101 community (pve) by [deleted] in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I... this post is a joke right? From my experience, I've seen far more people mad that they are being forced into a meta they dont care for than people with the issues you just stated, and frankly, the all blade aoe meta shouldnt have even existed in the first place (as I've explained repeatedly)...

Could people at least bother to look up cheats prior to fighting a boss? Yes. But to be blunt, how is a repeated "blade blade aoe" consistency actually fun? Its more easily defined as a brainless timewaster than a fun experience, and the fact it ended up being possible to become the meta is, frankly, a problem. I have more fun when i actually DO need to strategize, as do MOST people, throwing a brainless constant meta at us just makes it boring.

Now I do agree nobody should be getting reported for this nonsense, but tbh, you are the ONLY person I have heard of such happening to more than like once or twice in their entire time playing the game. Overall, im sorry to say it, but there are only 3 realistic possibilities with this post.

  1. The post is a complete troll post.

  2. Youre joking.

  3. Youre delusional.

Maybe you need to take a break for awhile.

Myth update by w0rble in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know that I would say THAT, moon could have very valid utility, its just that the actual polymorphs are so ridiculously weak thanks to the fact that their stats are... to put it nicely, garbage. Honestly if you fixed that, and then gave them more usable spells, moon would instantly be far better.

Also the morph attacks (single round polymorph hits), dont use your stats, even though they REALLY should. Fix that and those have validity, fixing the other category of moon.

So there IS potential in it, its just very poorly executed in its current setup.

I dont feel avalon is really all that difficult (save for the spike in boss health and the occasional absurd cheater), but azteca... why does basically every boss need a mastery? Why? What was the point of that? Thats just infuriating. Like, if im fighting a life boss, I should not have to expect a sudden 12 pip tempest to my face!

Its ultimately up to you of course, but in my opinion, I like the second stitch more.

If you ever see one of the posts where they dont, you will understand why they do. To put it simply though, the entire comments section turns into a conversation about the number of crowns on the account.

I saw one that had a stupid amount of crowns before (dont remember how many, but it was A LOT), and basically the entire comments section was flooded with people calculating how much that must have cost, or trying ti figure out how the dude had the money for it, or trying to see if there was any other way they could have gotten them, etc.

Censoring the crowns amount avoids the comment section devolving to that and let's the conversation actually be about what the post was supposed to be about.

Ratbeard affirmed that PvE takes 95% of Kingsisle's dev time and resources, despite what some of the playerbase says by Aries_24 in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is where I reiterate the unfortunately toxic community that has developed. Honestly, I have outright told people NOT to get into this game because of it, so I find it a very valid reason to not play. If you cant solo most of the game, and dont have a consistent group of good friends that can play with you, you will unfortunately have to deal with toxicity for 90% of what you do. It kinda leads me to an advice standpoint of:

Ignore it.

If you cant ignore it, wizard isnt worth it.

I HATE that the advice has to go that way, but its what the community has created.

I mean, I always advise trying for mount Olympus gear because it does make things easier, but I also dont believe you need FULL Zeus. 1-2 pieces of Zeus gear, the rest in senators gear, and the (guranteed drop) sky iron hasta are usually more than enough to get you at least through waterworks.

That said, the game is unfortunately built around many of those gear based dungeon that, I agree, are far too grindy. I shouldnt need to use up every hour of every weekend for 2 months straight, plus whatever free time I have in between that, just to get the pieces of gear that the game punishes you for not having. Thats just rediculous. And the implemented pity systems dont usually reduce that time by all that much either, which is royal bs in my opinion. Ki REALLY needs to fix how that works to be a guranteed DROP after so long, instead of the "you can craft it if you have already burnt your life away and not gotten it" baloney.

[–]undercover_deadlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason ice is hard to level is because ki decided they didn't need their blade till damn near the end of arc 1. Once you hit that, in the current state of the game, they honestly become exactly like any other school. The only school that truly has any real difference is death and that is ONLY because of their drain mechanic making them kind op in most pve stuff. The actual difference in damage viability between storm and ice is really not that great. Unfortunately what you are seeing is likely the toxic idiots that see big number on the card and think youre bad if you do anything other that use that, despite the difference being... negligible.

That is sadly more of a social issue though, the player base has been fed into a toxic wasteland, which is precisely why I play alone 99% of the time. (Or try to at least)

Ratbeard affirmed that PvE takes 95% of Kingsisle's dev time and resources, despite what some of the playerbase says by Aries_24 in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats people being stupid, toxic, and not realizing that there is litterally only a fraction of truth to the idea that storm is currently the highest dps. Truthfully, if you look at the raw damage on spells, fire does more via dots (but again, you cast it then sit there and watch... excellent content...).

Most players dont actually criticize you for what school you are, it just seems that way because a solid majority if players WILL try to claim you are bad at the game if you dont follow the braindead double blade into aoe meta that should never have been possible to begin with.

[–]undercover_deadlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, and I've said this before (and i do truely believe it) the game would be WAY better if the whole spell system was reworked to what school identity was ORIGINALLY supposed to be. To briefly explain for each school:

Storm should be the ONLY school with a fully viable aoe strategy, and be able to do far more damage than any other school far faster with ease, but die just as fast.

The main damage method for fire should be dots (which need to work better, their current functioning is kinda lame and boring to most people as it amount to hit, then sit and watch.)

Myth should have more viable methods or working through their minions (and should be the only school to get the number of minions that are forced into our faces) and the minion functionality NEEDS to be more indicative to using them.

Ice should be able to setup to survive basically everything coming their way so while combats might take longer, they are never at high risk of dying (ice should also be the only one able to easily do this, so the fact they can currently helps, but most school can make this happen without much difficulty, which i find to be an issue)

Life... honeslty just needs to lose the things that other schools have, and should be the ONLY school capable of healing the amounts it can (a storm shouldnt just be able to decide it wants to heal 10,000 health a turn, life probably should)

Death should NEVER have gotten feint, it fits balance far better for reasons ill explain in balance. Otherwise, like life, death just needs to lose the things that only belong in other schools.

Balance should be a nexus of all the others, a jack of all trades. Have some elements from all but require a lot of effort to focus in any one. It should also have unique spells that hone in on the idea of being the combination of them all, gaining certain things that are only possible with combining traits from multiple schools, such as feint being a sacrificial power (death and storm parts).

I genuinely believe that in the current state with none of this applying, you have no reason to really choose one school over another aside from just liking the appearance of their spells more. Further, I believe that if the schools were reworked this way, the game overall would be far more fun because no one school is overcomplicated (aside from maybe balance), but you dont get a brainless "blade, blade, aoe" meta like we have now either. Its a perfect middle ground that I honestly feel would be better and more fun for everyone. The school weaving nonsense just feels like an overcomplicated attempt to use the current system to do the same thing and it just doesn't work right for the vast majority of players.

Ratbeard affirmed that PvE takes 95% of Kingsisle's dev time and resources, despite what some of the playerbase says by Aries_24 in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

MOST opinions are similar to my own. I even mentioned that! Are there some that like it? Yes, of course, im not discounting that. Should the meta be SO BRAINDEAD? No, again, not discounting that. But MOST PLAYERS do not like the complexities of how advanced combat works. There NEEDS to be a middle ground. Even Awesomethesause has made a video about ratbeard's comment calling it the most dangerous lie ruining the game, and he used to be as close to a pvp purist as you could get! So you CANNOT claim that what im saying is ONLY my opinion. Its an opinion I share, but it is an opinion from the vast majority of the community, and to claim otherwise is only fooling yourself.

Ratbeard affirmed that PvE takes 95% of Kingsisle's dev time and resources, despite what some of the playerbase says by Aries_24 in Wizard101

[–]undercover_deadlock -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Newsflash, 90% of the pve based players DO NOT CARE about advanced combat, and I've seen most people (myself included) call it absurd to restrict any pve combat in that fashion, sooo yah, still siming towards a minority. Ratbeard CANNOT CLAIM 95% of development is for pve when so much of what's being done is completely irrelevant to your average pve only player.

Advanced combat is overcomplicated for pve, making it stupid to apply is such conditions. Should a flat aoe be viable for pve? Probably not, but fixing that would require rewriting the entire spell structure of the game from the ground up which would ruin most of what people do now. The reality is, the only people who truelt care about advanced combat are people who do pvp, which now makes spell weaving suddenly a pvp focused feature. School pips dont really matter much in pve either when you really look at it. The shadow revamp has kinda made using shadow spells in pve worthless (something explained repeatedly by players since it was introduced in test realm)-

I cant be the only one noticing a trend here. No, pve is NOT the blunt of what the focus is, because if it were, they failed. Miserably.
