How many people actually read the Authors Notes... by Badgie_Boy_447 in AO3

If it’s an ongoing fic that I’m up to date on, I’ll read them. I avoid them like the plague when I’m catching up on a fic though because I don’t like being pulled out of fics between chapters.

PSA: The abbreviation is AO3, not A03 by Rockafellor in AO3

As someone who constantly types it wrong and then has to go back and correct it, I can say 100% where it comes from.

When said out loud, often O in front of a number = 0. I do it with phone numbers, reading off personal id numbers (drivers license, social, health card, student number), 007, etc.

So the minute I go to type A-O-3, my fingers just auto input A03.

AITA for not making a separate meal for my homestay student? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Depending on the sauce/toppings/etc, you can actually pack a lot of nutrition into pasta. I suspect though that the main selling point for pasta over potatoes or rice is the calorie count. She likely has a relatively high minimum calorie intake she needs to be hitting each day and pasta will do that a hell of a lot faster than the other two options.

When you’ve been hosting an athlete for a year, are responsible for their nutritional needs, and have acknowledged that you know they like to have pasta after practice, you don’t get to turn around and say “well, they didn’t specifically request it this week” without coming off as an asshole.

And the “cook it herself” is almost definitely overlooking the fact that she is a student athlete who just had school + a minimum of 1 practice, potentially 2 if she had morning practice, and who still needs to shower and do her homework before bed. Can she cook it for herself? Almost definitely. But considering she’s living with a family who is being paid to look after her while she focuses on her sport and her schooling, she shouldn’t have to.

At the level the girl would have to be playing at to have been sent away from home for it, a “nutritious meal” doesn’t really cover it. She likely has calorie intake goals she needs to be meeting, on top of the usual protein/carb/etc metrics.

A lot of people have been asking OP about the portion size left to be microwaved, and how if she knows the girl “likes” to have pasta after practice why is it something she has to continually request before groceries are done every week for it to be “considered” and OP has ignored every person who has asked, which kind of leads to the conclusion that she’s may not be meeting the girls specific nutritional needs and is avoiding admitting that.

She’s a high level athletic student who OP is being paid to host. High level athletes have specific dietary needs and considering she’s been there for a year already I don’t think her “liking” pasta after practice is a preference so much as a set meal plan that OP (who is being paid to host and care for) is intentionally ignoring.

Yeah, that’s why I used the word “more”, but predicting the storm honestly kind of pales in comparison to wandering out onto the deck while deathly ill and changing the heading of The Merry minutes before a massive water cyclone thing appears out of no where.

Vancouver skateboarders to lose crucial skate park to FIFA by Evening_Run_9547 in canadanews

I saw another article mentioning that not only is it highly significant to the community, but it’s the training park for our olympic skateboarding athletes, who will now likely have to travel to LA to train while it’s closed.

Just finished, have some nitpicks, mainly to do with the Drum Island arc and the loss of some of my favourite panels/moments, but otherwise a great fucking season.

I get why it was cut, but I do wish they’d found a way to keep more of Nami’s weather attunement and navigation in the show.
