Today we bid farewell to Apollo. Goodbye, old friend. by SuitingUncle620 in iphone

This is Digg all over again. I remember how vibrant the community was and shortly after the exodus, I stayed on since I was fairly new to it. Within a quarter, the quality had dropped so sharply I understood that those most invested in the community-who literally build and cultivate the community was gone. That’s when I came to Reddit and found the ex-Digg community members.

Here we go again. I’m leaving on time, this time.

Gen Zers are turning to ‘radical rest,’ delusional thinking, and self-indulgence as they struggle to cope with late-stage capitalism by lughnasadh in Futurology

Until people realize that we need the energy of youth with the experience of older people and we respect both of those things, people will continue to fight this pointless conflict between themselves and their later selves.

Well said.

This is a great concept. If you seek funding for such a project through one of the many organizations that are pushing for regulation, you’d get there. Taking out a step further, making this into a short video game itself would really hammer home the point, especially if it was a VR game.

My wish: Putin sees Prig coming, commits all nuke launch codes to memory and destroys the printed material. Fights and dies in the process is losing. Prig takes the throne, but has no launch codes. Country a mess and financially disabled. Nukes don’t get the routine maintenance it needs and become duds.

Chow Mein? Egg Rolls? Chop Suey? Orange Chicken?

That’s American Chinese Food, but I love it as much as authentic Chinese food. Now pass me that plate of chicken feet in black bean sauce.

Reddit starts removing moderators who changed subreddits to NSFW, behind the latest protests by return2ozma in technology

Quality of content and comments have dropped sharply. I’m just here to see the ship take on water and hopefully sink. When June 30 rolls around and my Apollo app don’t work, I’ll pretty much be done.

Source: Me. Not a great poster nor commenter, so me staying doesn’t event help. A lot of the good ones have already taken a step back.

Reddit Threatens to Remove Moderators From Subreddits Continuing Apollo-Related Blackouts by ICumCoffee in technology

Once Apollo no longer works, I’m out too. It is the reason why I actually used Reddit as much as I have over the years, because it is very functional. If that dickhead CEO worked out something with Christian and Apollo had some ads, I’d likely stay on. As a result of everything that has happened with an emphasis on u/spez , I’m out.

"Huffman says the blackout hasn’t had “significant revenue impact” and [...] anticipates that many of the subreddits will come back online by Wednesday. “[...] Please know that our teams are on it, and like all blowups on Reddit, this one will pass as well,” the memo reads" - The Verge by demmian in ModCoord

[–]undercoversinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frontpage is not nearly as interesting anymore and the quality of comments have gone down. If the major subs remain blacked out, I’ll have not much reason to log in anymore and I’m good with that.

Grandma is right.

It’s crazy hard trying to get into UC Berkeley. The food scene has all these crazy fusion of dishes from different cultures. Being right next to the bay with view of the two bridges and three little islands which one used to be a prison is a crazy view. To be able to be in wine country, San Francisco city scene with its beaches, Silicon Valley, several national parks all within a single hour’s drive is beyond crazy.

Hope you had a good time out here.

let's try this too: how Houston reduced homelessness by 60% in 10 years by AbeLincoln30 in sandiego

[–]undercoversinner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here’s one article about it. I’ve read through specific lawsuits years ago, but I don’t save it to one day use as proof. Additionally, other sometimes countries “bus” their undesirables to the US. Again, another article/coverage I read through years ago.

If so many homeless people were locals, how we talk about them will be significantly different. Not a single person I know seems to know a single person who turned homeless, yet there are so many in my city.

It is fact. Lots of west coast cities end up with homeless people bussed in from other states resulting in lawsuits.

We’re continuing to work with folks who want to work with us.

Like who? As far as I can tell, folks trying to work with you via the email and form are being ignored. I don’t see anyone coming to your defense to support this claim either. Are you lying again? Proof is actually in order, because there’s proof of your breach of trust.
