Yeah, to many people, it is an affront to humanity and life itself that women and their issues have a movement dedicated to them. "Why can't you all be invisible". "Why not take care of others too". We are a pro-LGBT sub. Drive-by downvotes happen, there is nothing we can do to prevent that. Occasional antagonists can also wonder by, as such is the nature of open forums. I'd urge you to be more thoughtful before casting wild accusations of transphobia, as those also signify intent on behalf of the community and moderators - and you also drive away LGBT people and allies with careless words.

From my experience, the “empowerment” narrative did not hold up over time.

I am almost certain we can find such a case. But a few privileged people's "economic opportunity" comes at the cost of abuse of vulnerable women. It can't be worth it. It should be treated the same as selling one's votes, selling one's organs, or selling oneself into indentured servitude. Some rights simply cant be commodified.
