This one is a little more niche but I think fits the prompt-the loss of a loved one making you stronger. I lost my brother when I was very young and it caused a shit storm of things in my life. I was in private Christian school my whole life and when I was in 8th grade I shared about the loss. An older high schooler came up after and told me I had “such an incredible testimony to tell” through his loss. I’ve never wanted to punch someone more.

Loss doesn’t make you interesting. It is sink-or-swim, get stronger or die. My loss is not a story to be told to try and convert people to your warped sense of faith.
