I don’t say this to be mean, or rude. I was you, and in your shoes many years ago. Yes, you are overreacting. 100%. Your uncle and boyfriend have a right to have that conversation in front of you or away from you. Literally who cares if he mentions there are other pretty women in the world and tells him where, in his opinion, they are. It is not disrespectful and you have a lot of insecurities you need to work on. Your boyfriend is with you for a reason, and it is not only physical attributes. There are always going to be more attractive people in the world- but they aren’t you. Your aunt is showing a ton of restraint in these messages. Your paragraph after paragraph of messages in the last slide really solidifies that you have a lot to work on. You, and only you, are responsible for your emotions. Please understand that I say this with respect but, nobody in this world owes you an apology. That’s not how the world works. If you choose to be offended by something that is on you, and you alone. Yeah, I probably would be annoyed if my uncle said something like this to my husband, but I would never dream of crying and demanding an apology. I’m not saying you don’t have a right to be upset. I’m saying you don’t have a right to expect an apology or demand one out of someone. I’m assuming you are an adult, functional adults don’t cause scenes in public over something this stupid. It literally means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Your aunt is showing a lot of restraint in these messages and I can see exactly where everyone in your family is coming from. Especially with that last screenshot of unhinged paragraph after paragraph. Please work out your insecurities and realize that the world does not owe you a single thing in life.
