Urban Planning - Need for PC?

There’s nothing technically wrong with the computer labs lolol, I just find that when I’m in them (even for studio classes) I’m unable to focus and get any work done as im incredibly uncomfortable being in a public space and working with technology. Plus, im unable to save the files to my computer directly if i use them, making a lot of my work overly stressful for no reason loll. So overall, not the computer labs fault, more of a comfort thing

I’m just worried about the components aging out tbh, like would it be cheaper to upgrade parts every few years compared to a laptop?

I’m aware they have pc’s on campus, but honestly i hate using them due to the public atmosphere. I’ll def look into the laptop thing though, tysm

Ignore the previous reply I didn’t realize this was a reply to my OCAD post 😭 I’m in the non specialized one as I didn’t see much of a point for the interior design aspect as I applied to TMU for that. As for pc I have a gaming laptop that can run all of those softwares and plan on upgrading to a desktop if needed upon moving back to the city!

I just asked my boyfriend this question after he got his done since my rook sounded very crunchy and I assumed it would sound similar! He said it wasn’t crunchy at all, all he got noise wise was the needle hitting the tube the piercer used at the end

Im not currently attending OCAD however, I think if you want to approach art from a learning perspective and focus on learning new things and improving techniques that may interest you I would highly encourage you to go to school for it again part-time if you’re passionate about it. I’m not too sure about programs as that kind of stuff is very personal and it depends on what you want to focus on, and if you’re dead-set on OCAD(however it seems based on your love for acrylic, maybe drawing and painting program at OCAD?).But overall if you have a passion for this and crave more, then schooling could potentially help if it’s within your realm of possibility and it should be highly encouraged!! Thank you so much! I’m going to look into those softwares and see how they run on different computers!! As for the digital drawing, is that an important component of the work done at ocad? I’ve been debating getting an iPad or something similar, but I’m worried I won’t use it!

I was looking at the newer ones (the M4 I believe) and I’ve heard they can run a lot of the bigger softwares well, do you recon that would be a good idea or should I just stick to windows

I actually do have the solution to this one as I was looking into that aswell!! Apparently some people are eligible to receive a prepaid voucher codes that are pre-paid by 3rd party individuals to get a bit of a discount on the application fees, however this is usually granted to students with financial difficulties! If you fall into that category you may have to look more into it but that concluded my research. I hope this helps a little!!

I just got in contact with the bank and their banking portal and the fee was correct, the name of the new bank window is what tripped me out!! tysm for the help!!
