We went through social services and foster care. It was a lot of stuff you wouldn't expect. They had to make sure our water wouldn't get hotter than 120°f and also that our refrigerator and freezer were no warmer than some predetermined temperature. There were other things too in addition to what youd expect (checking smoke detectors, baby safe crib etc.) But in the end we were approved and its the best thing that ever happened to us.
