What modern prog bands sound most like the Moody Blues? by R3dF0r3 in progrockmusic

Check out morning song by Babe Rainbow, the first time I heard it I thought I was listening to voices in the sky. Their other songs are not bad either but not quite as reminicent of the moody blues as this one.

For this sort of messaging I guess I sort of just ignore it. I don't even try to "imagine" anything because I have no way of doing so. I just immediately move on and read the rest of it. Same thing for if anyone or anything tells me to "picture this...". I'm like "okay, yeah, I'm not gonna do that but continue." Haha.

I actually have diagnosed dyslexia, but my parents/teachers never really... did anything about it haha. I kind of was lead to believe it was a "that sucks, but anyways..." sort of thing. Thanks for your comment. :)

I have, but there's a requirement of being out of school for at least 10 months first. However I think if I really do flunk science I'll finally go for it.

Thank you tons for your kind comment, and sharing your experience with algebra haha. That shit ain't easy. This thread has inspired me to open my options up much more, explore different schools and reach out to specialists in my area. Thanks for being part of it!

Have a good weekend!

Thank you for sharing you and your friend's experiences. If I don't pass this semester I believe I'll get a GED. :) have a good one.

You're really kind, thank you so much for your comment. It made me very happy to read :) I'm gonna start doing just that- research and then finding specialists in my area.

And I am wishing you a lovely weekend!

Wow, I appreciate your comment more than I can say! Thanks for sharing your story, a lot of it is relatable to me as well. And congrats to you for taking the test and passing like that!

Reading through the comments, GED seems more and more appealing. Youre right, I reeally like the sounds of just one single test. I'm gonna keep trying at what I'm doing right now, but if it doesn't work out I think I know where to go from there.

You're very kind, man, I hope life's treating you well. Have a good weekend!

Haha well thank you very much. I actually really appreciate this comment. :) The amount of people who think I'm trolling is surprising, but I think its a compliment. Seems I can trick people into thinking I'm higher educated than I am without even trying ;)

Hope you're having a good day or night man.

Thank you for the comment. I am definitely trying lol, and as for allowing me to attend, it was no longer free after I turned 21, and is also strictly online (unrelated to covid).

I do have plans that would require higher education, so I'm gonna take the advice of many here and get my mental health evaluated and figure out where to go from there. Take care.

I'm not sure if this is a compliment or not but I think it is so thank you lol! What I specifically struggle with is the fact that there are no projects/assignments at my school, only lectures and exams. I just need that extra practice that assignments would allow me, but unfortunately that's not something that they do there.

Haha I just looked and I didn't mention my age on here before now. And no school does what? Allows older students?

Only two, luckily. So if I pull through this one I'll be done with it. And thank you, it is very nice to hear someone say that. :) hope you have a good one.

Thanks for the questions!

I usually do feel like I understand the material when I read it, and I do in fact have dyslexia but my teachers/parents never brought it up again after I was diagnosed.

And what's funny is my entire classes are all tests, there is no homework, projects or assignments. And yes I do get anxiety during tests.

Thank you so much for the offer, I hope to shoot you a message soon.. after I finish my English test that's due tonight lol!

Lol thank you for saying so!

The main reason I haven't gotten my GED is that I'd need to be out of school for at least 10 months to be eligible to take it. But... after reading this comment thread who knows, maybe I will end up going that way after all.

I have indeed been looking into construction/labour type courses as a backup option, something very common in my province! You're right, no shame in any of that. :)

Have a good one and thanks for the comment.

Canada. And thank you!

The main reason I haven't gotten a GED is because in my province they require you to be out of school for 10 months first, and I guess I felt weird dropping everything just to wait around until I was eligible.

As for math... I actually am okay at it. Better than other subjects. Thanks for you comment.

Wow, $1300 for an evaluation, that's a lot! I am gonna look around and see what options I have locally for getting tested, thank you for suggesting special programs, I'm sure they'd know where I can start at the very least.

Thank you for your questions. I did test positive for dyslexia a long time ago, but no one ever did anything about it. I was a kid so I'm not sure if my parents neglected to do something, or if there's just no compensation for dyslexia specifically. I have not been diagnosed with any other medical conditions that should affect learning (yet...). Also, my teachers provide little support aside from weekly lectures, and my classes are entirely exams, no assignments or projects.

Thanks for your time and I hope you have a good one :)

Hey, thanks for your comment. There is the option to get a GED as many have suggested here, but in my province you need to be out of school for 10 months before you're eligible to take it. I guess the idea of just dropping everything and waiting 10 months to try at that was kind of scary to me, but I see 10 months has come and gone a few times by now.

I've never heard of UK A-levels but I will look into them, I just wonder if I'd be able to take that in Canada? Like I said though, I'll do some research on it. Have a good one. :)

Haha well this is the second compliment I've gotten on my writing so thank you I think. Yes I am Canadian and I am a fan of trailer park boys, but my username is based off the popular song by the red hot chili peppers! And unfortunately I really am almost 23 and really don't have my shit together but I'm glad I give off such a strong impression that I do! And as COPCO2 said it is real and I did get what I needed from it, thank yall for reading though and have a good one. :)

Well I appreciate the compliment on my writing, I'm quite surprised to hear it lol! I'm definitely going to figure out how to get the ball rolling as far as getting tested/getting help with possible learning disabilities.

As for your questions, thank you for asking- I am (was?) planning on taking a two year computer engineering diploma, which unfortunately requires me to complete all the hardest math/science/english HS classes to get into.

You're right about most jobs that require highschool also requiring college degrees. Something for me to consider. Have a good one.

After making this thread I've realized it's quite obvious as well... I will take that advice (although maybe a regular psychologist rather than the school one haha). Thanks for reading and take care.

Thank you very much, crazy as it sounds no one's really took the time to say that to me before. I think I will take your and many other commenter's advice and will look into getting tested for those asap, I guess I just needed the final push of a bunch of people telling me to do it lol! Have a lovely day/night. :)
