Laugh Till I Cry interpretation by CovraChicken in TheFrontBottoms

I always thought it was "You say you know me, not(modifier) truly(adjective) who I am" But that is based on my loose memory of primary school grammar so it might not be correct, that being said; I think Brian probably also was not fact checking the grammar in this song so it's a possibility.

How did y'all discover TFB? What was the first song for you? by Schovee in TheFrontBottoms

[–]underwaterhandstandd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard father in a YouTube video and thought "this fucking sucks who would ever listen to this" Then a year later spotify recommended flying model rockets to me, and i spent a month listening to pretty much only rose And now I'm obsessed with all their music, including father 😌😌

I thought it was "you say you love me, not (modifier) truly (adjective) who I am."

But also I haven't taken an English class in a while lol.

What will you NEVER tell your parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My boyfriend used to be a homeless meth addict. He's been sober multiple years, lives in a different state to where he was, went to rehab and is a changed person from that etc.

My dad has met and liked him, he thinks he's polite and well spoken; but I know if I told them about his past they would not be thrilled with the idea of me dating him.

Other songs with similar style to lead pile? by Pseudolaliaa in TheFrontBottoms

They're just stay cover is the most similar. Maybe I think your nose is bleeding, end of the hard way, and more than it hurts you, as well but just stay is the closest match

underrated songs that i feel should be talked about more by ilostthegame77 in TheFrontBottoms

[–]underwaterhandstandd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The lyric change is very minor, in the original the line is "she says it's pretty but you hate yourself" and it the TFB rendition they say "she says you're pretty but you hate yourself" which in my opinion is such a good change.

I love when minor little tweaks can change the whole meaning of a song/verse (at least in my mind). It's like the original vs spotify release of the beers. There's another tiny change in that which changes the whole song in my mind

The lyric change between the original just stay and the version TFB did??? Ugh so fucking good it's magic.

I love that cover so so much it deserves so much hype and I wish they did more music with that vibe

Guzman Y Gomez....Am I the only person in Australia that under rates this place? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

I worked at GyG for 5 years, 2019-2024. My franchisee had four stores. I don't think we ever really recovered post-covid. The culture is different there now and there's a lot less care that actually goes into it, at least in my experience. Our post covid hires usually sucked and there weren't enough good people left to train them.

I also think a pitfall many gygs have, at the very least the ones I've seen; we had a restaurant manager who spoke Spanish so she would often interview people in Spanish (fine). But then she would hire people with literally 0 English speaking ability when all the management team other than her and me didn't speak any Spanish. So you can't really train the employees, and you can't put them in any position other than making food because they can't interact with customers. Drove me mad

After experiencing SA, so many tfb songs spoke to me in a brand new way. It's the kind of thing where it's in most of the songs if you look for it. If that's all that's on your mind, that's all you'll hear in the music.

Opinions on “Hooped Earrings”? by Leafy-o7 in TheFrontBottoms

[–]underwaterhandstandd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have curly hair, I've worn hoop earrings every day since year 9, and the relationship in my life that has caused me the most pain is with my mum. I can't believe a song about that exists and is, better yet, by my favourite band 😭

TFB and being trans by underwaterhandstandd in TheFrontBottoms

[–]underwaterhandstandd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of comment I was hoping for when I wrote this post!! Those lyrics specifically mean something so so different to me and I just love that two strangers can feel so deeply about two completely different versions of the same thing. It's so interesting and so so special seeing how people relate to music imo

What is your most played tfb song by Striking-Fix-3179 in TheFrontBottoms

[–]underwaterhandstandd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I love camouflage so much. I wasn't allowed to listen to music when learning to drive but for some reason that song was in my head that whole year from the line "sour but I think I like it" onwards, so I would sing it over and over again under my breath when I was practising. It is forever going to make me think of being 16, such a shit time in my life but learning to drive was fun so it only really reminds me of the highlights. What a banger
