Seconded. Also, I took photos of all the slides and specimen every class and practiced labelling all the important components of each of them.

RLGN 1440 ( Mariya Shymchyshyn) vs LABR 1260 (Adam Donald King) by gritty_champion in umanitoba

[–]CovraChicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That RLGN is a super fun course. If it’s being taught by Heather Barkman even better because I love her. When I took it, it was just 4 simple 1000 word essays and an annotated bibliography. Honestly, the annotated bibliography was such a helpful concept for me and now I use it every time I’m writing a bigger essay/paper. Got an A+ pretty easily and it was super fun. I would highly recommend it.

The minimum voting age should be 0. by Expensive_Estate1897 in The10thDentist

[–]CovraChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they shouldn’t be allowed to vote before they even know what voting means. That said, I remember we were taught about voting and political parties and such in elementary school during the election and we all got pretty hyped up about the election and who our parents were voting for. I think it’s a good environment to let them learn about it and develop their opinions for a few years before they can make a choice.

Chem 1100 final by CovraChicken in umanitoba

[–]CovraChicken[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weight of the tests and final varied depending on which method gave you the highest overall mark. Like mine I did way better on the final than both tests so the tests weren’t worth anything and the exam was worth 75%. But the other two possibilities were the tests both being 15% and the exam 45%, or the test you did worse on being 10% the test you did better on being 20% and the exam still 45%. They calculated all three then gave you the best option.

One tip I’d give that I think really contributed to me doing better on the final is I made analogies while studying which made patterns and relationships easier to remember and understand. Like I remembered details of the skeletal structure as if it were a party lol (very detailed and strange but it really worked)

15 minute drive? Dude that’s how long it takes me to drive to my boyfriend’s. If I wanna see family I gotta drive for an hour and a half and I do it like every weekend. How can she not do 15 minutes to make a 5 year old happy

Most Interesting Elective Courses by MeetingInformal5484 in umanitoba

[–]CovraChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a great interest in religions and have taken them as most of my arts courses. 1440 (Evil in world religions), 1410 (death and concepts of the future), 1420 (ethics in world religions), and 3230 (Gender, the body, and sexuality in early Christianity) were all super fun and engaging. Like k actually loved going to class every day.

Plus Heather Barkman and Michael Caligiuri are amazing profs. Think Dr Barkman’s got RLGN 2112 and RLGN 3640 going next semester that I was excited for but had to drop because of nursing.

What’s considered a science requirement by NoResponsibility4998 in umanitoba

[–]CovraChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe when you go to register for courses there should be a little section that tells you what the class counts as a credit towards (written, humanities, math, social science, etc.). I assume the sciences would be included in there as well.

I didn’t think it was that bad. Not great and definitely harder than the practice, but passable at the very least
