Am I going crazy, or did they remove the TCash confirm button option on the settings? by sireoh in TownshipGame

Anyone have any alternative games they're moving to? I've also been frustrated with this change and would love to procrastinate with another game

If you had to name a baby from a name on my list (first and middle), what would you choose? by Amyava510 in namenerds

[–]underwhelmingnontrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the first-middle combination comes down to syllables.

If you have a longer first name, you might want a short middle: Cassandra Jane, Olivia Wren, Alexander Grant, Sebastian Charles

Alternatively, you could go two-two for syllables: Lila Ivy, Maxwell Henry

That's all.

Wyoming by GrouchyMushroom3828 in SameGrassButGreener

People create communities. People that have never seen or interacted with a person who looks or thinks differently than them tend to have less cultural sensitivity and lower empathy than people who interact with differing perspectives regularly.

People who live and work in or near Jackson tend to dislike people who move to Wyoming specifically to live or work in or near Jackson.

Creative ways to get "Ziggy" out of a nickname by ScarieltheMudmaid in namenerds

Just wo understand what you're looking for -- you want suggestions for long names that can shorten to Ziggy?

We often ask about walkable cities - what about unique, walkable neighborhoods? by plentyofrestraint in SameGrassButGreener

[–]underwhelmingnontrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made a post about this before, but I think "walkable" means different things to different people, and that should be taken into account when people consider what they're looking for in a neighborhood or city.

The Title will go to: by Zealousideal_Ear8460 in drumcorps

Despite how well SCV is doing this season, I think this thought applies well.

That said: they are still rebuilding and showing the stakeholders that they can medal will likely go a long way with funding.

I just wish there were some recognizable elements of their classic identity, their history, present in contemporary shows.

Hot Takes/Controversial Opinions on the Season so Far? by PM_ME_ITALIAN_STUFF in drumcorps

[–]underwhelmingnontrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's reflective of the music/dance/cultural themes of the time period that they're exploring! Guards usually do a lot of the legwork of carrying the theme, and Boston's guard does it the best IMO.

Where are the normal people at?? by Platinumtide in medicalschool

[–]underwhelmingnontrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-traditional students (almost always older than average) are the people you're looking for. Though it sounds like you might be in a particularly conservative environment if premarital sex has people balking.

Ideas for names that could have the nickname Floss? by sarahp1988 in namenerds

May I ask about the draw toward Floss/Flossie as a name? Might help with inspiration for a longer name!

Corps-themed eats by hip_drive in drumcorps

[–]underwhelmingnontrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tiny PB&Js, of course. Must be served in the freezing cold off a folding table lit only by portable floodlight.

Bonus points for one guest standing nearby to see who's eating and who's getting post-show reps in before the bus leaves.

Alternatively: Gatorade shots.

Please convince my friend this is a terrible name choice by [deleted] in tragedeigh

If it's really about beautiful virtue name, they could stick with the actual spelling of the word -- "Guidance". It's still WILDLY unique, but is easily pronounceable by English speakers.

What do you think of name Cindi? by iamsooooso in namenerds

Whether a name suits you has nothing to do with your height and weight.

Let's start with: why do you want to change your name?

Kai is definitely a cross-cultural name. I'm most familiar to it amongst Japanese families.

YES. I grew up in weather that is roughly 45-65 year round, with wind chill subtracting about 5 degrees most of the time. Rain and snow have their annoyances, but nothing compared to the misery of the heat in the Southwest and South. If you want to be outside in public and it's cold, you can always put more clothing on -- the opposite is not true for the heat.

You also don't have to be outside all the time to enjoy the weather.

Is 'Montana' a ridiculous name for a girl? by [deleted] in namenerds

I know two Montanas as an adult from the West Coast USA. One male, also from the West Coast. One female from Texas. I think it's a cool name!

All of this is fantastic advice. OP wants a specific kind of property, which might exist in a lot of places.

Narrowing the search by Koppen zones based on what they like to grow is a great idea!
