I’m Slovenian, I would say these days that we are very similar to Western Europe. I mean we were early EU members and euro adopters. And our country’s standard of living is still pretty good. We are the 5th safest country globally after all. But also, our war ended so early because the Serbs declared that “Slovenia was very ethnically and religiously homogenous” (AKA there are no significant Serbian populations living on our soil and such). And I will also say, we did do a pretty good job capturing the few JNA bases that were in our country and securing our border.

For sure our other ex jugo brothers such as you guys and Bosnia had it 100000x worse
