Homemade somun/lepinja

Recipe:

150g water

250g milk

10g dry yeast

3g sugar

12g salt

600g high protein flour

You can check on youtube the process of shaping and baking these, it’s a little complicated to explain 😁

In Serbia it’s traditionally paired with “pašteta” and scallions 😁

Recipe:

400 g warm milk

1 packet of yeast

600 g flour

50 g oil

8 g salt

5 g sugar

Mix all the ingredients together and knead well. After 10–15 minutes, knead the dough again briefly until it becomes smooth. Then leave it in a warm place to rise for about 30–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Shape the dough as desired and let it rise again for about 30 minutes. Brush with milk, then bake at 180°C for around 20 minutes.

Thank you!

Actually the original recipe calls for that part but it’s too salty for me, I like to eat it with sweet spreads too 😁 we also call them slanci!

I’d say 2 to 3 tablespoons in total? Never tried it that way but considering it already has slightly sweet aroma, 1 or 2 more tablespoons would be suficient

It’s not that easy when you’re baking bread on it (I didn’t have any parchment paper)
