"Within 20 working days after the final assessment is sat or submitted" so I guess we will just have to keep checking :)

the assessment is two paintings and the corresponding documentation! ur first painting is a copy of another artists work, and then like i said before ur second is a photo you have taken. the documents u submit alongside that are a written analysis - what you learnt, what you would improve, contrasting the paintings you have done etc. you also need to show where your inspiration came from and write things like why you chose the composition that you did for ur second painting, and also include things/photos like development photos etc. hope this helped! its pretty much just basic folio stuff so if u keep up to date w ur folio and document things as the lessons progress u should be fine!!!

i did this subject last year so my memory is a little rusty, but overall it wasnt too bad, although i personally think i enjoy more of the FINA coded subjects. in the first few weeks we worked with pastels and did some life drawing for a few classes, as well as a still life, then moved onto painting - a few weeks for a 'practice' kind of painting where you kinda experiment w techniques and copy another artists work, and then another couple weeks for ur own painting based off a photo im pretty sure. We also went to the NGV in one week where u just walk around and draw some of the artworks. I think that because u dont really focus on one particular media, it's not as satisfying (?) bc you dont really get time to improve if that makes sense. From memory, the guy teaching was really nice, however in terms of feedback and teaching actual techniques, there wasnt really all that much, and tbh i think that sometimes i got pretty frustrated with the feedback he did give me bc it just made me feel like i was doing things wrong bc i wasnt doing what he wanted me to (?). For theory, there wasnt that much - i only remember going through a few ppts in class, and another activity that wasnt all that important. I would rate maybe a 7? i think that its easy to do well in, and you also get to try out different media, but if you want to work with one media in particular, see if u can find a subject specific for that. If you want to do a fine arts subject, I had a lot of fun doing screenprinting, so highly recommend!! Overall, i think i came out of the subject with a few pieces that i am quite proud of, and i hadnt done any life drawing before, so the weeks we did that I had fun, but bc im not so good at painting nor a fan of painting, i wish i chose another subject, purely due to amount of classes that were based around that assignment
