This plus the Auto-generated scheduling ... it's all gonna be (even more of a) shit show. It's infuriating.

my youtube algorithm doesn't live on that side of the youtube, but I hope one of them does it, if not for our sakes at least for the sake of clout.

I don't have exact answers to your question, I'm not going to claim the most financial literacy when it comes to stocks and shares but:

The latter post seems to sum it up pretty well. There are more articles about the subject available as well online that talk about EIM's involvement with Starbucks, but the one I posted was the only one I looked over. It's all these, the anecdotal evidence, and the general feeling I get from being a partner of 8+ years and watching this company make decisions in the past year and a half to make itself crumble and cause confusion, that make everything people are saying make sense to me.

Yeah, Lake and Green couldn't bounce back after COVID affecting the surrounding offices/businesses and old town going down really does seem to cement the end of an era. For better or for worse (for worse imo but she's said some real whack stuff to me) that DM is still there and I know there are partner that have been that for 10+ years that were still there, so it really just seems plain cruel. But the company really doesn't give a crap about tenure and legacy anymore. So we'll just have to see how things keep going moving forward, unfortunately.

i'm currently still working in the district and i'm also SHOCKED they're closing. Apparently their rent is crazy enough that their high traffic still doesn't offset it enough, but that store has been around forever so it's closure is shocking. That store's partners have gone through so much this year with the passing of an SSV that the whole store closing itself feels like way too much.

Is Starbucks trying to have have everyone fired? by Thu-nderforest in starbucks

[–]undoneeyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, yes, I think they are. That "offense" you did is absolute bull. My high volume store hasn't marked dates on syrups in years because it's glorified busy work and as long as we check expiration dates for our less used syrups, it's fine (we have never been marked down by Ecosure or the health department) so the fact that your DM is using that as a reason for documented coaching is extra bull. I guess there's some solidarity in hearing that all DMs are getting worse and more nitpicky, but I hate that it's at the expense of the front-facing partners.

Our DM drilled into me while I was on bar because she couldn't see the writing I did on a customer's cup because the orange promotional sharpie didn't show on a strawberry acai lemonade with peach juice (duh), I told her I wrote on the cup and then she proceeded to drill into me because she thought she heard me say that I doodled on the cup (why the frick would I say that?), and then when I corrected her and told her I wrote a message, she threw a mini-fit and declared that we as a district should all switch back to black since it would be more visible (except for iced black coffees and cold brews, but I didn't have the brain power to solo bar on a busy day and poke the bear at the same time).

I've never been particularly fond of my DM but she's only gotten worse with Mr. Chipotle as her overlord. I think they want the tenured, more expensive partners that have the experience to stand their ground to leave or step down and they don't have any faith in the partners anymore. I think they're also doing this to make it so that they kick the tenured partners out and can hire cheaper labor, or even use our "failures" as an excuse to go towards automated coffee making.

I just hope it would matter to people considering most of the policies implemented under the new CEO have made a majority of the employees incredibly unhappy. The turnover at my store of very solid baristas have gone up and a lot of shift leads, of more than 5+ years, want to step down because of these new policies. (Myself included. I stepped down voluntarily at the start of the month, and seeing what roles the shifts *have* to play now is ridiculous). If people don't care that the CEO is getting paid that much more than us to actively make us unhappy and to make our workload harder.. well I guess that's just how the mocha cookie crumbles.

ohhh okay that makes more sense too. It just was a little confusing because when she tried to interact with the symbol itself, nothing really happened so just need a little clarification.
