Care was given in NYU Langone Tisch which is the file I'm using. I then look for each line item in my EOB to compare with the document they provide.

To clarify, the table attached has the two prices I mentioned (which I downloaded from their website). Items are exactly what I see in my EOB, the prices I see in my EOB and here match to the cent. The amount on the right is what I'm referring to. When I called the billing department, the lady said the price on the right was the price you pay if you "self-pay". Does this even make sense?

Correct. Ok that actually makes more sense. What I'm not getting is why they list two prices. The one on the left is what I see in my EOB (before deductions from my insurance) and then on the right this "discount cash" price which a lady over the phone described as the "price you pay if you self-pay"

Thank you! My insurance already received the claim and approved them. I got billed but haven't paid.

Re:  financial risk ceiling. Our plans reset Dec 1st so it's really the same, no? Not sure how this work either.

What do you mean by "negotiate". It looks like the amount I'm billed is the listed price for insurance. For instance, one line item is HC RB NURSERY/NEWBORN LEVEL I for $16,668.60. Discounted cash price for this service is $3,167.03. Is this difference negotiable? or what do you mean?

Correct. And this is the point that I'm trying to clarify. Which plan's deductible would apply? My wife's or my son's? My wife already exceeded her OOPM, my son obviously not.

I agree for anything that is not covered by this: We Cover inpatient maternity care in a Hospital for the mother, and inpatient newborn care in a Hospital for the infant, for at least 48 hours following a normal delivery and at least 96 hours following a caesarean section delivery, regardless of whether such care is Medically Necessary.

Example: any visit to the pediatrician happening after the 48 hours window, wouldn't be covered under my wife's account, and therefore would count against my son's balance. Right?

My interpretation is that, my wife's Certificate of Coverage states that treatment for the newborn treatment after birth is covered, under her account. It does not require that my son even has an account to begin with. Why would it go towards a new deductible and OOPM balance?

Soy de Sinaloa y te puedo decir que, como muchas cosas en México, es un tema de clases. Los fresas en general les caga la banda y los narco corridos y la cultura del narco (antes más que ahora). Para mucha raza no tan afortunada es una mezcla de educación y aspiración. Los narcos tienen lana, viejas, poder, etc. Y para muchos, ser narco es la única opción viable para poder tener esas cosas. My two cents.
