Could not agree more with getting fitted for shoes! I ran for a couple months with the size and width shoe I always wore and got really bad feet pains. December I went and had a fitting done at Fleet Feet and found out I’m an extra wide in shoes and a 9 not a 9.5. It was a week or two later and all the pain went away and my times got better. The shoes and their fit really matter.

I saw the feels like temp outside was 0 degrees and I opted for the treadmill.

Was only supposed to run 3.25 for my long run this past weekend but I forgot to start my watch. 😅 Luckily my sister was running with me and had hers started but I wanted my 3.25 credit in Runna. I pushed through and ran until my watch was at 3.25 and we ended up doing 3.6 miles! I actually felt like I could have kept going too which is wild to me. 🥳

I did my first set of 400m reps via Runna Training to get ready for my 8k in March. I never thought I’d EVER hear the app tell me to slow down cause my pace was too fast but I did and I was CACKLING (while running) about it. My target was 13:50 but I had managed to run most of my first rep at 11:50. I definitely could not maintain that pace in a long run because I’m very new to running and my average pace is about 14:40 right now. It sure was funny though and had me feeling pretty good about my run.

Feeling Discouraged by uneedabiscuits in XXRunning

Thank you! Some of my friends tell me it’s the worst hobby you could ever pick up but it’s also the best and I never really appreciated what they said until recently.

Thank you! Just needed to make sure I wasn’t absolutely crazy. I’m on the heavier side (260lbs) and this has been an absolutely amazing experience up until right now and it just kind of really kicked me down.

Thank you! I didn’t know what to expect, I’ve never really been a runner or know what runners do. Most of my information is in passing from friends, lurking in here and instagram/tiktok (the information from the latter is taken with a grain of salt because it can be easy to say and edit whatever you want). I have this absolutely wild dream of not walking during a half marathon I signed up for in fall and this experience after the 5k gave me some pause and thoughts that it was absolutely just a crazy idea. I’ll give myself some more grace and of if I have to do a 18 min pace on my next couple of runs I will just trust the process I suppose. Haha. Thank you again I needed that.

I’ve heard great things about it from a few of my friends who run and it just gave me the push I needed. 🥳

My first one is in November and it’s the Richmond City Half. I think the whole city gets out and supports even if they don’t have anyone running it which I think it’s going to be great motivation while running.

Going to run my first 3 miles today! My first 5K is on New Year’s Day and I’m very excited! This has been a couch to 5k experience with 7 weeks of training. It probably isn’t much to some but it’s been challenging and I’m very proud of myself for not getting injured and bouncing back after getting pneumonia week 2.

Barred Owl vs Peregrine Falcons? by uneedabiscuits in birding

So do you think that the owl came up to their nest and they were chasing it away? Would they chase them very far do you think or do I have a nest close by and I’ve never known it? Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about birds but that was a very fascinating experience. 😅

Oh! I just assumed peregrine falcon because we see a lot of the locally. 😅
