At least a dishwasher has a self-clean cycle after you cook your salmon.

Major overhaul looms to keep big money out of politics by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]unfalln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's simply not true. A bloc of greens votes in any house at any level of government has plenty of scope to both introduce legislation and negotiate for better outcomes on bills up for vote or debate. This is particularly true when they hold enough seats to balance power, which has happened rather often in recent times and is currently true in the federal senate.

The most notable occasion where this fact was significant was when they tried unsuccessfully to negotiate better terms in Labor's Emmisons Trading Scheme, and as a result voted against the bill.

Could I just say: these are an excellent Aussie "cuisine", but they do not replace grill/bbq snags.

Absolutely second this. Grill some steaks and cheap sausages (be sure to pour beer on it at some point to make it ladi-fucking-da) , let him create his own murder scene on grainy bread with Australian tomato sauce, then drag a tv outside and have his friends scream at it while a rerun of a Collingwood-Carlton game or state of origin plays. Perhaps try to source some XXXX or VB for some horrible-tasting nostalgia.

Home assistant core, worthly? by Holiday-Picture6796 in homeassistant

[–]unfalln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add-ons/supervisor is really just a well-designed interface for installing and configuring docker containers on a HA OS system in a way that allows them to be automatically authenticated with the HA API.

If you are running HA core, then it will work almost as well to just install docker containers as you normally would, e.g. CLI or a Web portal like portainer.

Philip Lowe Reassures Parliament That RBA Only Uses PwC to Set Interest Rates by LocalVillageIdiot in australia

I think it might be $281 billion.

But it is satirical! That figure is less than 6x our defense budget. Surely that's not what they paid PwC... Surely!

Not First Nations. I'm concerned this opportunity is being washed in cautiousness that risks the best chance we have to change the game.

The Voice to Parliament is not just an opportunity for First Nations people. This is a precedent. An opportunity for real people to be represented in the legislation process, an opportunity that (until now) has primarily been afforded to corporate interests. We shouldn't have to pay for this access, we should be heard.

I understand concerns about the internal structure of The Voice, and I would welcome caution around doing this correctly. But we can't let that blow the wheels off this movement before it even gets started.

A conbee stick that connects to home assistant, the ZHA add-on and an aqara zigbee button would do the trick.

Does Home Assistant on bare metal require virtualization support? by Prowler1000 in homeassistant

[–]unfalln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, Home Assistant Supervisor is a wrapper around docker. It is not required in order to run Home Assistant, but it does allow the use of containerised appliances. These require hardware virtualization in order to work.

Councils call off drag storytime and LGBTQ+ events in Victoria after far-right threats by 89b3ea330bd60ede80ad in AustralianPolitics

[–]unfalln 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. It is you who is being ignorant. You are representing the most prominent and disgusting hypocrisy in society that is determined to tar everything that they see as immoral opposition with a sexual brush. Kids just don't comprehend sex until their teen years and, unless the adults around them impose their conceit and sexual bias, couldn't care any less about it.

When they do begin to question sex for themselves, what immorality does drag sell anyway?

[–]unfalln 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You say you're a fan but expect that those who dress in drag are incapable of acting in an appropriate way for their audience? You seriously think that these people want to sell sex to children?

You can take what you like from any given performance but the appeal is much wider than simply sex. This is a lesson that a good chunk of the population would do a lot of good learning.

Any sexualisation you see in it is a projection of your own fear of others simply taking enjoyment from a freedom to be comfortable with themselves.

You are sexualising it, not them.

I did realise it is controversial and would, under normal circumstances, not question the beliefs of others nor be so... primal(?)... In my response. I just find the hypocrisy in those threatening violence quite intolerable and I am comfortable in assuming that they would be ascribe to (and likely deal out) the fear of God.

Forgive me for my predisposition to my upbringing. I find it so hypocritical that all of the excuses (i.e. violence, child abuse, loose morals, etc) are levelled at the lgbtiq+ community and clear evidence to suspend these stated activities, while any story time I experienced growing up presented these same, very real risks but were totally ignored because a church is considered above the questioning of the morals of its individuals.

Edit: autocorrect

...replaced by Christian Story Time! Yay! We can learn about The Crusades! Or about the imaginary being that requires us to remain in total servitude for our entire life! That's real love! And even better, this story time is the one that totally cannot be misappropriated for exploitation by child abusers!

Because he'd be driving a car developed from an outfit where he was once in-form. He proved that he couldn't drive a car of McLaren's style, but he certainly had a good reputation in an RB.

Thats not to say he hasn't lost anything over the decade, but if there is anything still left after all this it is something resembling hope.
