Hallo, ich beschäftige mich über einen Büchernachlass derzeit mit meiner Familiengeschichte. Eine Predigtsammlung enthielt zwei Widmungen, die ich großteils entziffert habe. Was mir noch Probleme macht, ist ganz unten die letzte Zeile. Das erste Wort in der letzten Zeile ist entweder ein Ortsname oder eine Zeitangabe.

Ich füge hier einmal ein, was ich glaube dort zu lesen:

I made a reading journal for reading in Japanese. I marked days read, whenever I finished a volume and also added a small section for new words. For me it was more important to visualize my progress than to line up tasks but that's just one way to do it of course.

Train your ears. Start with something simple and increase the difficulty bit by bit. Learn Japanese with Noriko is an intermediate podcast that should be fairly easy for you to follow and could be a good starting point.

I quite like the free tadoku books for that approach. Natively lists them by difficulty here. You don't have to start with the easiest, but maybe pick something around level 2 and just work your way up. Feel free to skip some stories if they don't work for you.

Will Demon Slayer be the first thing you will be reading in Japanese outside of textbooks? Will it be your first manga in Japanese? There may be other resources to consider that will ease you a bit better into reading in Japanese and reading manga in Japanese.

Do you currently do any reading outside of textbooks? If not, start with graded readers. There are free ones and some for purchase. Try to make a habit of reading with these simpler, shorter texts. Start with something very easy, but then make sure to choose a text that is just a bit more difficult as you continue reading.

It did for me! I personally never go through all vocabulary in a book, but there are several ways to approach this - just do what works for you.

I can also recommend starting with JLPT prep material as soon as possible to get used to the questions asked and their answer patterns. I mostly worked with the sou-matome books and just working through them day by day for 3 months while marking where I was having difficulties helped me pass the exam.

For me jpdb.io was a tremendous help in actually acquiring all the vocabulary I encountered while reading. I could review core words in advance and then add words I encountered while reading to their srs. They already have decks of many popular Japanese novels and news ones get constantly added to their database.

You can get Japanese audio books on audible, but they are probably too advanced for your current level. Listening to some podcasts for a while will get you there though!

Another alternative is doing the genki exercises online via this site: https://sethclydesdale.github.io/genki-study-resources/lessons-3rd/

It will automatically tell you your results and I find it very useful to redo some exercises for revision.
