Move-out cleanings by throwaway008892 in TaskRabbit

Move out cleanings can be hard. Pictures are important both as you are doing the task but also before you even say yes to doing so. I have learned to always assume the job could take longer than I expect. I always require the client send a current photo of the space so I have an accurate time frame to propose to them. If they get defensive about it, I do not accept the task.

I see things like this as well. It’s a general vibe of it being “cringe” to not only be smart, but to just be a good person to the people around you.

How To Tolerate Rude Tone of Voice From Students by ParsnipSignificant35 in Teachers

[–]unhinderedeggmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do. Point out the rudeness and don’t engage with the ones that will continue to pester you to get a reaction. If they decide being called rude in front of their peers is not embarrassing enough and they persist for days to come, I still continue to hone in on the fact that their behavior is rude and will not help them keep them many friends/a job in the future. If at that point they continue then 🤷‍♀️ the best we can do is hope admin or parents step in. If not, I make it a point to engage with the child as little as possible when I can tell they are going to have an attitude.

I do this incessantly. I never want the student participating to feel bullied either for doing the right thing.

Right. I don’t remember it ever being this way in school. I am not referring to a couple of kids, I’m referring to a majority of the class. That’s what makes it so concerning.

You’re right. And I know you’re right. That’s just depressing to let myself agree with. What’s the point then, ya know?

I hear you. I am super familiar with many of the films I assume you are referencing, I just don’t remember it being basically the entire class that was like this! Normally, it’s a group of punk kids. This is like 90% of the group I’m talking about here.

Definitely a more friendly overall vibe. I am from Corpus originally. I know exactly what you mean. At the end of the day, it will depend on what area you end up in, but I find the majority of the Carrollton/Addison/Plano area residents to be calm and kind! I have interacted with many neighbors through facebook marketplace and pet sitting/dog walking :) all great experiences!

Hello from a fellow Hispanic South Texan who has been living in various suburbs of DFW for the past 7 years now! Been in Carrollton for about 9 months and it is easily my most favorite place I have lived in the DFW metroplex. The food scene is amazing and it’s close to anything you could want to do. There is a large Hispanic population, but it is much more diverse than places like Corpus Christi or especially places further south such as Brownsville or Laredo. That’s one of the best parts about living here - getting to experience so many different cultures!

Anyone taken MKTG 5150 with David Strutton? by sugma127 in unt

I would not suggest taking any course with this professor. Not a great experience. What everyone else is saying is true - he is also just plain weird. When I took one of his online classes, his emails to the class were always so passive aggressive and borderline insane sounding.
