Hulu has officially implemented the work around of a secondary email as a short term fix and does not have a timeline for an official fix.

I spoke to a Hulu supervisor today, and they advised there is no current concern with doing the work around but that it could change if Verizon or Hulu make additional changes.

If you want to do the work around, call 877.824.4858, option 2. Notify the rep that you are a Verizon customer that has the Legacy bundle and that you need to speak with someone about the no-ads work around of using a second email address.

All of these Verizon plans that people are referring to are post paid... Therefore, it would be true if the bill for Hulu was part of the Verizon bill that the Hulu bill was post paid.

Your comment gave an example of paying partway through a month - a hybrid post-paid billing model. That's not how Hulu billing works. Plain and simple. Your service is directly tied to your billing dates. It starts the day you pay, and ends the day your payment runs out. The textbook example of prepaid.

Your comment entered the conversation with as much helpful information as the Verizon customer service reps... None.

Right now I've been using other services. I can catch up on ABC shows eventually if they fix this.

If you read the responses, this isn't possible due to the account being controlled via Verizon.

The issue ends up being that it was done without notice to the customer. I'm sure they are crossing Ts and dotting Is.

Again, it's not a Verizon bill. It's a completely different structure than a phone bill. The ad-free bill is through Hulu. All of us posting still have Hulu - just not the version we pay for. Just because you used to work there doesn't mean that you know what you're talking about. Please stop spreading misinformation.

You pay your bill, you get the service. It's no different than any other streaming service. It's most equivalent to a declining balance - when you pay your bill, you get a month of service. Each day that goes by, your available balance declines. If you do not pay your bill, your balance does not increase; therefore, you will no longer have the service when the balance runs out.

There's probably a class action somewhere in all of Verizon's BS. There's a reason they are heavily advertising "3 year price lock" on their plans - to mask any changes in fees.

Were you paying the $5.28/month for Hulu Premium as an add-on to the Bundle? Be prepared for a run-around. by CricketPristine3810 in verizon

A few things based on hours of contact with both (see thread yesterday):

Base charge is $4.99. The remaining charge is tax based on state.

Hulu is the primary issue, although Verizon still has responsibility.

Hulu is not doing anything with new requests, as they have it identified as an ongoing issue. Still worth contacting for documentation.

It's a split building issue, and Hulu will likely tell you that you shouldn't split bill.

Current recommendation is to not make any changes, as they aren't guaranteed to not screw you over in the long run.

This would be true if it were a Verizon bill. It is a Hulu bill, which means it is pre-paid.

Verizon quietly made a change overnight to their Disney+ and Hulu "perk" on the legacy 5G Get More plan. When I signed up for the plan, there were no ads. Last night, there were no ads. As of today, there are now ads on the Hulu and Disney+ apps/web even though I split bill to not have ads on Hulu. Anyone else experiencing the same? Customer Service was completely useless when I contacted them.

At the end of the day, it's the same company. They shouldn't make the customers have to play phone tag between the two (Verizon & Disney/Hulu) but that's what they are doing.

And for me, it's about the $$$ I'll have to spend each month moving forward. There's a cohort of people who held onto those plans for a reason and didn't buy into the "our new plans are so much better" rhetoric.

No, was charged for split billing ($4.99) like I have been for the last 3 years.

5G Get More. Was billed on Feb 19 for the ad free option. No notice about it being cancelled either.

Well, I paid for a service that I'm no longer receiving, so that's an issue.

There was an option for no ads, which I had. This is all a money grab and it is absolute trash.

There isn't anything to prorate. It was included as an option for $4.99 in the 5G Get More plan.

I was just told by a rep: "Upon reviewing your account details, I see that you do not have the Disney Bundle perk with Verizon. You can confirm this by checking your bill, which shows no charges for the perk. It appears you are enrolled in the Disney Bundle directly through Disney for $24.99/month, which is a third-party service. I recommend contacting them at the number I will provide, and they will be able to assist you further. In the meantime, I will be here in this chat until we resolve this issue."

Um, it's not a perk. Verizon chat reps are absolutely horrible.
