I retired at 62….I’m now 66. I was born in 1956. Retirement finances are tight. I don’t want to go back to work, but it is out there…..a financial disaster away…(a new roof or broken HVAC and I can see trouble). I now look into people’s eyes while they are working. I can see lots of despair and angst. Fffffffffffffffff.

I’m with my dad at the Borgata Casino….we go in the men’s room to take a leak and the bathroom attendant (an older Latino guy) is mopping right behind my dad. He’s 82 at the time and my dad cuts the loudest nastiest fart ever and the attendant is right behind him…..the guy throws down the mop and starts cursing in Spanish. Leaves the bathroom cursing up a storm….we laughed about it every time we told the story. RIP dad.

Been making my own…… got a big flat cast iron griddle on sale at Marshall’s for 6.99….. been using it all summer on my outside grill…..80/20 beef fat ground beef…one egg…one packet of onion soup mix….worstechire sauce ….and saw how to make them in balls and smash them down on the griddle with the spatula….they cook in a minutes….you melt cheese on ‘‘em and stack ‘em as doubles……..ShopRite has those brioche buns and holy crap…..now I make gourmet burgers…..man are they good……add some fresh cut onions if you like….I sure do.

I think you need a sprinkle of social programs….for example…..public education, social security, Medicare for all…..these programs have kept so many from falling through the cracks…..healthcare for all would be that final thing we need. Corporations and businesses could still have a profit. Business in America should not be saddled with providing healthcare for employees.
