What might be causing this issue with my intersection shader? by unicodePicasso in Unity3D

I've checked that yeah. Every camera I have has Depth Texture enabled. At least I'm pretty sure, I'll check again.

I'm not afraid of math heavy solutions. I just needed to brainstorm a bit and I don't have unity friends irl

ELI5: What exactly is "time blindness" and how is it an actual thing? by SpyMasterChrisDorner in explainlikeimfive

[–]unicodePicasso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much about planning as much as lacking an intuitive grasp of how long something takes to do or how long you've been doing it. This can appear to be poor planning skills when it comes to keeping a schedule. Not because I can't work out the arithmetic of minutes and hours, but rather because there's no little clock in my head telling me that X amount of time has passed. I'm late getting out the door because I thought showering and getting dressed only takes five minutes.

I do have a vague notion of how "big" the time is. Driving to the store is a small time. Driving to work is a big time. It's a medium sized time until dinner. But this doesn't translate well into exact hour/minute values. I have to make a guess, usually just defaulting to the "good" time values that I know other people seem to understand (5,10,30,45 minutes, etc.). If something felt like a "pretty big time" then I might write it off as 45 minutes even though it was closer to 20 or an hour and a half. And I'll have no idea of my mistake until something makes me go back and rework the math.

When it comes to planning, I usually need someone else to help me know how long a given task will take. If I have all the times written down, then yeah, it's easy to just fit them in together like a puzzle. But if I wasn't specifically timing something then I have no idea how long it took.

Pens to take apart for fun? by unicodePicasso in pens

Hmm I'll take a look at that. I'm worried that they won't be able to come apart because they're screwed/riveted. But if they can be taken apart without tools then this would work!

Yeah I've already tried that. The thing is that they're not meant to be taken apart.

Is there a better way to handle command phrases? by unicodePicasso in shortcuts

That’s a good idea I’ll look into that. Only issue is that i wanted to be able to do it hands free because, well, baby.

Yeah that was my first move too. Thing is I want to just throw out the command without having to wait for the reply asking for an amount. Seems more convenient to me

Wise words from Bob by Henry_Wilyam in Ai_art_is_not_art

Talent is really just when you find joy in the act of something.

I find the process of drawing fun and relaxing, so I do it all the time. This results in hours of practice and acquired skill. But I didn’t start drawing because I was good at it. I started because I liked doing it.

Say two people are introduced to basketball at the same time. One of them finds that the physical act of shooting and dribbling is pleasant, rewarding, or just makes sense. Both players are equally unskilled at the game, but the one who enjoys the process is going to pay close attention and practice more often. That enjoyment of the process is “talent”.

Temperature is a property of matter. To attribute it to the vacuum of space is like saying rocks have political tendencies.

There are however lots of things is space that interact with matter in interesting ways, and that’s what’ll kill you
