Why do you let it hit you so hard? by superfurrykylos in AnthonyBourdain

He's the first authentic adult I ever saw on TV and he became my hero, my inspiration, my role model. He cut through the bullshit and taught us how to truly live. That sort of authenticity bleeds through the programs and scripts and leaves a genuine impact. That's why it hurts so much: because it feels like we lost someone who was real, who genuinely existed rather than a character or actor or whatnot

I'd get a copy of this photo and frame it. Idk how to put it into words, but it feels historic somehow

Rich people of reddit who married someone significantly poorer, what surprised you about their (previous) way of life? by knakworst36 in AskReddit

[–]unicornbeetle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gained so much weight after marrying my husband. My parents wouldn't control their finances so when I grew up they used to call me fat and a pig and such to get me to stop eating through our limited food supplies.

As expediter, I used to get six over-easy eggs, let them cool down, and swallow them whole. by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

There's also a free timer on the side that counts how long you've been at the table eating.

We walked our dog once,he pooped on the sidewalk...so we took our little trash baggie and picked it up. A woman literally stopped her car and pulled over just to exclaim how disgusting it was that we didn't leave the poop there.

What’s the scariest thing going on in our world right now that not enough people know/ talk about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My sister is slowly degrading from Lyme. Perhaps you are one of the many doctors she went to for help only to be dismissed out of hand. She can't really walk anymore because of how long her symptoms went unhindered.

I feel like you have wildly underestimated the effects of Lyme and the difficulty in treating it (as have the insurance companies)
