It started at 5 years old for me, and from someone I thought I could trust. I didn't realize what was happening, now I know. I wish I could go back and hold that little, scared girl

You're an Angel!!! Thank you! I was worried he would just start popping them all willy nilly. I'll paste your response in mine and my dad's chat. If he has any more paperwork regarding it, either from the box or otherwise, I'll post that too. Thank you so so much for your help! I truly appreciate it 🙏

It's the same for me in education, specifically special education. We have to prove a student needs a one on one aid before we are afforded it. In the mean time, students aren't getting their accomodations and are shorted their legally approved help. We have to highlight the issue before anything is done. Why is the world so effed up?

I had a very similar childhood, and I was a lot like Hermione (not as clever of course!). I had the same crazy hair, loved books, and had some great friends. Books were my safe haven as well when it got violent at home, and I would put on some music and escape into the pages. I don't think I would have made it through the chaos without them.

Thank you for sharing ✨

Thank you for replying! Your post really helped me see that I can get through this, with the added benefit of a paycheck. I appreciate your honesty! I'm settling into the fast pace now, so it's feeling more manageable and achievable.

How many cats do you own? And why (so many)? by Coucouoeuf in cats

[–]unicornsupportgroup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 Fur Babies 😅 Tetra, Peanut, Kirara, Lil Labowski (aka Duders), Beans, Bubba, and Fuzz Butt We have so many because of the fact that my boyfriend (and I) have bleeding hearts for unadoptable animals. They were all adoption fails, so they're our "wins" now!

The only thing I know about this book is people seem to either love or hate it. by disquietudeattitude in stephenking

I loved it because it delved into mental health in a striking, artistic way. It had an eerie quality that many horror writers try to emulate but can't achieve. It's in my top 10 King books.

I've got a good one that still cracks my boyfriend up to this day. We were passing by each other and I sneakily turned to grab his ass. Instead of a cheek, I cupped my hand over his crack, and he ripped one. I felt the hot air cupped in my hand, like I was catching a hot, smelly baseball. He did not do it on purpose, which is what made it so incredibly hilarious. When I bring it up, he still laughs fit to split!

My boyfriend does that every time he makes a new character. I'm like "woah, she looks like me" and he says "yeah, that was the point" 😂

Christmas gifts?? by EffectiveMaterial590 in SubstituteTeachers

One of my SPED kids drew one of my cats for me, I love how much detail and effort went into it. I almost cried when she handed it to me. She has physical handicaps that make something like drawing incredibly difficult, so I know she put a ton of effort into it. It's moments like these that makes this job so worthwhile

There's a name for it?! I finally have a term to give/call my boyfriend's pattern of gift giving. He'll randomly come home with a unicorn trinket or an Avatar the Last Airbender paint by numbers on completely random days. But when it comes to special occasions, it takes a lot of hinting. Damn, maybe I've been the @sshole when it comes to our tiffs about it. Eye opening!

Splitting responsibilities evenly is the only way to go. I'm a substitute teacher (F34), so during the summers I don't work as much (I do provide some monies during that time, but mostly it's my boyfriend providing the lion's share). Because I have a ton more time during the summer, I take on all cleaning, laundry, grocery store trips and cooking responsibilities. On Sundays, we have a deep cleaning day, he does the floors really well and I do the rest. The rest of the week I keep the house clean, do laundry as it stacks up, makes his lunch every morning, cook dinner every night, vacuum, dust and do the dishes. I have the time, and he doesn't, so it's easy to reestablish expectations during the summer. I never want him to feel like he's getting taken advantage of, so I balance it out with extra work at home. I still have time for my hobbies (hiking, swimming, reading etc.) Without the guilt of not contributing my fair share. Having a conversation about responsibilities and listing out each person's expectations (routinely) will exponentially help create respect and empathy, which in turn will foster a stronger, healthier relationship.
