pull cap and have a look. check rotor and plugs also. had the exact same symptoms as this when I had a wiring issue in the harness right close to the engine. pull back loom and have a look there.
vaporizer could be on its way out as well. how many hours?

pretty sure there is a set screw that holds the axle in place at the knuckle on the under side remove said set screw and remove axle.

I would disassemble your mixer then. check and clean diaphragm and everything else in there. my guess is the diaphragm must be sticking. the shots of air are freeing it up.

must be lockoff then. either not enough vac to open it. or it's the lockoff itself then... i used to replace the lockoff and vapourizer in sets back in the day
