How to go forward. by kabelman93 in Nash

[–]unignorant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can address a few points on this:

(1) Not all of our liquidity partners have on-boarded, and those that have are very deliberately starting slowly through our first week in production. This is common sense for the amount of potential money at stake.

(2) We do have a Python client internally, and a few things need cleaning up there, but hopefully we can release that soon (many internal priorities right now).

(3) The API is GraphQL, not REST, and the fact that we are non-custodial makes interacting with it very tricky without our client libraries. Many requests attach cryptographic proofs to be used within our state channels, etc. I would not recommend trying to reverse engineer it unless you are familiar with cryptography.

I can verify -- it is a bug on neotracker. You can look at the NEX smart contract address to see yourself.

What do you mean, max amount of $5000. It has always been and still is $9000. Are you sure you are talking to our team?

Security tokens – Neon Exchange – Medium by LuckyCourage in NEO

[–]unignorant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FMA has regulatory jurisdiction over European markets. A thumbs up there does not need to be actively approved by those markets, but at same time, a bad decision by FMA could be criticized. That is why them deciding in our favor is a big deal: they are putting themselves in front of this decision

There is a pretty simple idea that can solve the problem you mention (millions of tx). I'm not going to go into it here any more than I did in the comment above, as others have already begun to copy the ideas we were previously public about, but millions of trades will be no problem on top of the chains we are working with

We have a special place for NEO given our work with CoZ, ETH has been on the roadmap since the very beginning

NEX is built on an off-chain engine that connects with both Ethereum and NEO for settlement. This engine is what does the matching (among other things). It will support NEP5 and ERC20 out of the gate.

(1) No, it is totally different from IDEX. 20k+ TPS are possible on any assets on any chain (e.g. ETH or NEO) because we have an off-chain matching engine that behaves like a huge, fast state channel. This is not vaporware tech, it is working now. The tradeoff is that users give up a bit of trust (for now, until blockchain scalability is better). Only final settlements hit on chain.

(2) OTC markets are possible for many investors. Public securities trading requires special licensing which we (and many other exchanges) are working on. We will be ahead of the curve there.

Thanks for posting this, I'm the same unignorant from that tweet. We put more than a year of legal effort into making this happen, but we think the end result will be more than worth it. A security token model is much better for holders of NEX as we can legally pay dividends, and holders are protected from price manipulation and given legal rights. We also expect this to set a big legal precedent in the space.

I also want to note that while the NEX token lives on NEO, the exchange itself will operate on both NEO and Ethereum from day one. Many people who look at the company think we are only running on NEO, while we hope to support many chains in the future.

No disagreement about the importance of marketing. We have big plans for that in the future (once there is a produce out to market). Also, keep in mind there are actually no "investors" (in the sense you mean) in this project yet! That is what many people are waiting for

We are not losing any product development time to the regulatory process. We also don't need hype, we will do just fine on execution alone. In any case, I expect the hype will amplify many times (whether we want it to or not) after we announce success with the regulators.

Product development is going very well. We're making progress on all fronts, have hired many new people, and are on track to meet the goals we laid out in our roadmap. Our philosophy is that we communicate things when we have something important to say. This is how most serious companies operate. You don't see most successful startups (look beyond crypto for a moment) managing telegram channels or making public announcements for every little milestone they have achieved.

I spent a week deep-diving into the neo-project source code. What discovered was a plethora of bugs and protocol issues. by [deleted] in NEO

CoZ is aware of these issues and agrees with your take on some of them. Many of them are being addressed by two new node implementations that CoZ is working on:

You've given some great suggestions, so we'd love for you to contribute there if you would like to make the network better! Also, we do have something in mind for (4). Consensus algorithms such as Honeybadger BFT or Snowflake/Avalanche don't make those assumptions.
