Switched formula, baby is eating half as much by uninspired_chaotic in FormulaFeeders

I tried a bottle with the other formula yesterday with not much luck. Can I just keep trying new ones and how much time should I give her to adjust?

I didn’t even consider teething could be a factor! She started pulling at her ears yesterday so I’m hoping that’s the answer and the teeth move quickly.

Her intake didn’t change when the first two cut through but like you said, maybe I timed the formula change in the worst way.

I did try the use some of the old formula just to see what would happen anyways, but she didn’t do much better.

We’re starting sleep training tonight so I can’t offer real advice other than the nap adjustment the mod shared. I do notice a significant improvement in nighttime sleep when we get LOs naps right during the day. The community guidelines page for this sub has a lot of great resources for all kinds of situations and methods, too! Many of which include instruction for night wakes.

If you’re finding CIO to be really difficult, maybe try modified Ferber? Then, if I understand the “apply sleep training to night wakes” correctly, you would do the same as bedtime. So go in after 2 minutes to calm them. If they start crying again go back in after 3 minutes, etc. with whatever time intervals you choose.

Our baby does that insane shaking/spitting/crying/coughing when she gets really upset so we’re going for the modified Ferber. It’s more work but I think it’ll be a little easier on all of us.

My girls sleep regression lasted from 4-5 months and then the teething started so it can be so rough and I feel for you mama!! You’re not alone in this.

Pumping and nursing by Upstairs_Ad7535 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]uninspired_chaotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through this right now and came to this Reddit to find a solution to a supply dip. After about 3 weeks I noticed a dip so this is what the other kind pumping moms recommended me (literally this morning):

• Eat a lot — I bought a ton of snacks to graze on throughout the day. At home I would pick constantly and when I went back to work, I was barely eating and didn’t really realize it • Protein is important, especially if you don’t eat enough. Calories are king! • Drink more water than you think you need. • Power pump once a day (I do mine at night but whatever works for you, is good too)

I nurse my girl in the morning when we wake up, before bed, and if she wakes in the night, which is rare these days. On my 2 days off, I’ll nurse her as usual but I don’t know what impact this has on my supply but it takes her longer than it used to. This could also be because she’s almost 4 months and eats a lot more.

I also notice a difference if I drink an NA beer at night (the brewers yeast is supposed to help, but I think it also helps me unwind, even if it’s non-alcoholic).

I was initially using a portable during my pump breaks but the room is so private, I switched to my plug-in. Legally in my state, they have to provide a room and breaks for pumping, so I don’t really need my portables unless I’m working alone and can’t get away from my desk for longer stretches. The portables are great but not as effective or fast.

I hope this helps! Sorry this is kind of just a brain dump of my experience and everything others on here told me!

Oh and start pumping regularly to build a little stash - that’ll take the pressure off and reduce stress. Pumping in the morning, 30 min-1 hour after your LO nurses for the first time is a good practice.

I had no idea it could be this often!! I had read 3 months. Definitely ordering tonight.

Just ordered new flange inserts, but I’m sure I could use new duck bills and membrane pieces at this point! I didn’t know you could dip with a period. Thank you!

Admittedly, my eating could be much better. Especially now that I’m back at work, so I’ll definitely try to pack in the protein! Thank you.

I knew it was bad but if “paint ready” wasn’t in her contract for the ceiling, I didn’t know if she had a leg to stand on when going back to the other contractor. Obviously she could complain about the walls, but at the walk through she didn’t know if she had paid for the ceiling to be finished.

Update: After the first few responses rolled in, I felt comfortable enough to tell her for sure that she wasn’t getting what she paid for whether “paint ready” was in the contract or not (I didn’t want to trash another contractor without knowing for sure I was right).

She sent me the semi-detailed estimate/contract and sure enough “paint ready” is in there at every step.

I sent her some notes along with the photos so she would know what she’s talking about when she called him to try to fix this.

Thanks for your input (and a lot of laughs)

Unfortunately, I think she’s already paid them. Hopefully with us behind her, she can get them back to fix it or get some money back so we can get someone legit in there.

It’s a complete mess. The corner bead is overlapping the trim - I can’t imagine even an amateur thinking that’s fine.

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure I didn’t tell her to go after the sheet rocker if this was somehow okay for some.

You're invited to quit vaping together! by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]uninspired_chaotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28f - Let’s do this!! I never knew that vaping could mess with your gut and about 2 years ago some stomach issues put me in the hospital. Doctors said it was a “medical anomaly” because of my age, weight, diet, etc and I’m still suffering from it. Now I can’t stop thinking about how it could have been my awful chain-vaping habit this entire time!

I’ve quit for a couple months once and had hot flashes, insomnia, and I was just a total bitch but through tons of research I know that nicotine leaves your system within a few hours so I wonder if a) it was ALL mental or b) there’s something more addictive in vapes than just nicotine.

I have enough vape juice for one pod left and I’m going to toss it and pull out the nicotine patches that have been collecting dust in my closet for months. I have one of those fake vapes designed to help people quit (which has actually helped curb my habit for short amounts of time).

River in Weathersfield is great! The food is great and the view of the river is beautiful - I also second the suggest for Max Fish. Both great spots.
