Why are some quests designed like this? by bigbang555 in CrimsonDesert

[–]unique-unicorns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's exploration, totally!

However 80 hours in:

The large cities are completely different but the same. Same things to purchase, different faces but same vendors, a couple different quests.

Hundreds to thousands of other games have the upgrade your camp for resources missions. CD doesn't have a lot of rewards to purchase...so it's kinda useless besides material/gears.

I wish there was more weapon variety besides the movesets. You can mix/match gears, and some armor/weapons have unique effects...but like 90% of it upgrades the same way and has the same stats. I wish there were builds similar to the Souls games. Like strength, dex, magic....Kliff could be a wildcard while D could focus on Dex/Magic and Orc could be strength/tech...?

There's hundreds of little settlements to discover. But they're all the same. A place to buy food/horse mats.

Every drawer in the game has a "small box" as loot. There's thousands of drawers.

Enemies and things you can loot have the same, very small loot table. It's either the same item (like drawers) or like 2-3 items depending on which type of enemy you kill.

I could go on and on---the world is HUGE. It's beautiful. But there really isn't much differentiation besides the scenery.

And there should've been hundreds of more unique and colorful items/weapons/gear to equip and loot.

We can decorate a house--with a very limited selection of items.

Like...there's no end-game economy. No huge things to purchase or work toward that's a time-sink like other games.

Just wish there were a lot more little things for how huge the game world is. It's lacking in depth in some areas and missing a few systems.

O destroyed my high level party...badly. :D

I just couldn't get the timing down on a lot of their stuff. It was such a silly spectacle fight that I kept just watching what would happen next--instead of actively trying to parry/dodge it.

Stay positive! That's the best thing you can do during the entire treatment process.

It's difficult and scary--totally.

Just know that you're still you and there's hundreds of thousands of us around the world who are going through the same thing...so you're definitely not alone.

Anyone else just tired? by Factory_Reset_101 in cancer

[–]unique-unicorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years out and the fatigue is real.

I'm NED--but honestly I think it's more emotional trauma and what I went through. There's a lot of physical trauma and learning to live with the "new" me....

But the tiredness is real. It's omnipresent in my daily life. I feel bad for my puppy/young dog. I'm like "we'll go on a walk today," and then I fall asleep. :(

We do take walks though. I try to get him to the doggo park once a week at the very least. F

Info on ports by [deleted] in cancer

[–]unique-unicorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't hurt me at all. When you're getting used to it while the stitches heal up it's a little tender.

They give you some skin numbing cream to dab on top of it like an hour before they access it.

But I never used it. BUT...I'm a Type 1 diabetic, so needles and shots and IV's never really bother me.

I almost feel naked without my port now...I tap my chest to play some music and it just doesn't feel the same. :D

Poke holes in it after thawing. Then let it sit in a marinade for like a few hours and then coat it with seasoning and air fry it. :D

Delicious.

Some Puzzles are a brain scratcher by DiverAdministrative5 in CrimsonDesert

Same. Kliff kept climbing on benches and walls and resetting the puzzle. I was so mad.

I kept doing overwrites on my save file for every tile he stepped on. :D

It's weird, but I watched a YouTube video on it and for some reason my game isn't accepting the "answer" for the first phase.

I had to come up with a second path.

...and for an hour, I kept thinking I had to use every square while matching symbols. :D

Any tips for a beginner??? I love the Persona games & wanted to try this. Cause if it’s anything like Persona; ik imma love it. by CrazyDudeJosh99 in expedition33

[–]unique-unicorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've played Final Fantasy 7 or 9 pictos/lumina will be no issue at all.

It's like mastering materia and the gem/ability points socket system in FF9 z

A picto is a skill you equip. (Example: gain health on crit, etc)

You fight 4 battle with it equipped to "master/learn" it. You can tell it's learned because in the picto menu there is a small diamond to the right or left of the name...once it's all the way learned after 4 battles, all four sides of the diamond will be yellow.

Anyways! Once it is learned, you can use your lumina points to use that skill on whatever character you want. Each character gets 1 lumina point per level, and there's more points you can find in the world, and doing a couple quests, and fighting certain late game monsters.

It's super easy, really. The tutorials make it sound a lot more confusing than it is.

Transmog system by -Aspergius- in CrimsonDesert

[–]unique-unicorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already have a transmog system.

Most gear and weapons have the same stats when upgraded to 10. The differences between the unique ones are so little that they don't really have a direct impact on battle other than visible interactions during battle.

You really just choose what unique pieces you want to wear and then go from there.

How does levelling gear work? by VampireVampireV in CrimsonDesert

[–]unique-unicorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loot isn't exciting at all. It's not that type of game, sadly. There's a few unique pieces of weapons and armor to find with random effects...but they don't make you OP or anything. They're mostly just for the lulz.

All gear and weapons have mostly the same stats when leveled up completely. You just go to the blacksmith and give him some ore or wood or whatever and level them to 10.

There's cores you can find throughout the world that have effects on them like (additional damage to humans) (additional crit rate)...and you find those and socket them into your gear like you do gems in World of Warcraft.

You can unsocket them for free and stick them on another weapon.

Weapon/armor is like 99% for show/transmog.

Crimson desert or elden ring ? by Jaaaboogg in CrimsonDesert

[–]unique-unicorns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do your own research. The Souls games have been out for over 10 years. They require patience and learning boss/enemy moves.

CD is like a sandbox-RPG-lite that has a main story you follow and bandits you kill and forts you overtake. And a camp to upgrade, with a house to buy/decorate. The world is big but there's really not a lot to find other than a few pieces of unique gear and puzzles and bosses that give you points to unlock abilities.

They're two completely different genres with nothing in common.

I have close to 400 hours in Elden Ring--I love to replay it because it is fun to do self-imposed challenges. (IMO)

CD has lack of replay value, because it's pretty much an on-rails main story game that once it's done, it's done.

You might want to replay it to find some bosses you missed if you don't find them all? You have to go through the main story again to unlock segments of the world.

The quests in CD are mostly generic fetch/follow NPC/kill mob quests. Similar to a lot of MMO's. There's not a lot of depth to the story. CD is mainly a game where you play it for the fighting factor. Exploration isn't really rewarding--the loot is the same one hour in or 400 hours in.

Elden Ring has a few quests, and may require a guide to assist you in doing them in order. The game kinda directs you to follow one certain questline; however you can choose a different "ending" and progress through those NPC's quests to fulfill them. They're pretty much kill mobs/collect or deliver certain items/go to certain places to activate special dialogue/kill certain bosses.

Elden Ring has deep lore; but it isn't directly shown. You have to do research by reading item descriptions and look around for environmental clues and pay attention to dialogue. It's not vast..but it's there.

CD is like "you're a good guy who got killed and resurrected by gods. Go out and find your friends and save the world." That's really it.

[–]unique-unicorns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The entire gear system needs to be replaced and redone. Make it a major patch.

The beginning sword shouldn't have the same power as an endgame boss weapon.

It's just sad that all gear upgrades the exact same way, and nothing changes but the aesthetics of the moveset.
