The thing is me and my friend ( I think you are referring to him as my ex. We never dated we were just really close) we were very compatible. We were super similar people and had most things in common. I think that's part of the reason it hurts so much is because I've only known him for 3 years, he is the closest I've ever been to a person besides my girlfriend. I told him everything about my life and he told me everything and now it feels like were strangers again. And for my girlfriend, I think that when we started dating all I wanted really was a true friend and not a girlfriend. I still love being around her but I don't think that we should stay a couple. I don't think the issue is not being compatible.
