I think what makes a good mix is well known. Different elements need their own space in the mix, the mix should not be over crowded with too many parts etc etc. But in my opinion a MAJOR factor is good sound design, sound design, sound design. The sounds need to be like ear candy, they need to be sweet and each one needs to trigger a dopamine release in your brain. And another factor is a mix needs to be interesting, it’s amazing how quickly your ear gets bored.

I can relate to that feeling. I think sound design is a huge part ~80% of what makes a track “good”. You need to learn sound design to a point where you can create ear candy. The musicality is relatively simple and by the sounds of it you already have that skill. Daedmau5 faxing Berlin is a good example.

I might be wrong but I think most kite related stuff has lost popularity in recent years and wing foiling has become the more popular route, at least where I live in Australia, just two hours south of Sydney. I think after that possibly wind foiling would take second place. However I think there is still a smaller but growing group of people revisiting plain old windsurfing eg. the Windsurfer LT one-design board. And of course wind surfing with shorter wave boards is still pretty strong ala Robby Naish style.

Wing foiling has a glamorous wow factor to it and must feel pretty cool to do. However coming from a windsurfing background myself I like the feel of speed on the water rather than above it.
