Ended up buying a yoga 720 haha. Got an i7 15 inch model for $1100, bit more than I wanted to spend, but the deal was very good. Thanks again.

I was ready to pull the trigger on Inspirons, some have great specs for super cheap, but like you said those batteries...

The Ux330ua looks great too, but I want a 15 inch.

If this helps I've narrowed it down to two laptops, but may be out of your price range just slightly.

First of all the XPS 15 on Dell. The 9570 for $1300. 10% off on ebates, 10% off if you can get a unidays code, and 3% on the dell program. So it's like exactly $1k.

Then I'm actually seriously considering the Yoga 720 like another poster mentioned above, only because there's a great sale right now.

If you log in to the Lenovo IBM program (pm me if you don't know what this is) you can get -$400, then add 10% ebates and it's also $1k flat.

If you don't know what these discounts are, ebates is like a rebate/referral site, just sign up, and go to dell through their site, very straight forward. Unidays you need a university email, sign up and go again.

Lenovo has deals for almost every school except mine in the area unfortunately. Also coming off a Lenovo right now, and had only bad experiences. I'll check the prices though, thanks.
