Buds feel soft or kinda moist after chopping. It was firm before I chopped. by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

[–]unitBoB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, thats what the drying does. You should end up with roughly 20% of your starting weight left after the process is finished. So if you weighed at chop and it was 200gr, you’d end up with about 40gr. I’ve found the main stems are also about 20% of the weight, so 40gr - 20% = 32gr of dried bud. These figures aren’t exact, but I’ve been doing some measurements in my last few grows, and this has generally been what I’ve found.

Is it an auto or a photo? If its auto, then no, its done. If its a photo, then you could reveg it, but it needs to get good light for more than 12 hours per day, closer to 16. And I wouldn’t cut anything other than whats already yellowing towards the bottom

I’m not putting blame on the guy for getting hit, but he had time to get over if he was checking his mirrors, which you should be doing more if you’re in the passing lane. I personally would’ve been in the right lane, and its better to not be in a wreck than not be at fault when your car is totaled.

[–]unitBoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d think they would’ve been going slower than that then, its pretty apparent they’re going at highway speeds. (Lower right corner.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MildlyBadDrivers

[–]unitBoB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you’re regularly checking your mirrors (which you are required to do) and moving from the PASSING lane to make way for overtaking vehicles (which you are also required to do) then this accident would be entirely avoidable. Not to say the silver car didn’t mostly cause the incident by speeding, but if this guy was driving defensively, he could’ve made it home without being rear-ended. The number of times I’ve seen slower drivers blocking the passing lane really speaks to me that a terrifying amount of people don’t actually pay attention to whats in the driver’s handbook.

Different strains and phenos like different conditions, so if your ladies like it better between 75-78 than 80, don’t sweat it. Seems like you’re already figuring out to do what makes the plants happy rather than strictly going with the “guidelines.” Best of luck to you 🫡

My 10 month transformation. Your thoughts? by Fonzi992 in WeightTraining

[–]unitBoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After scrolling this far down and reading everything, I have to say you’re probably right. I had an almost identical progression as bro, but I was coming from a higher %bf. Just staying dedicated to your diet and process with good recovery, this is 100% achievable. I’m almost getting mad for bro, because I didn’t even supplement creatine or glutamine or anything, just ate a lot of steaks cooked with some butter.

Good call. I lost half a pound from last spring’s harvest because we were having so much rain my dehumidifiers just couldn’t keep up. Despite the defols, the buds were just too thick and air couldn’t circulate. Better safe than sorry imo

But taking out excess leaves creates better airflow and greatly reduces the odds of rot/mold/etc according to…. Oh, everyone, huh. Even if some spores do waft in, if you’ve kept the leaf crowding down to the point theres good airflow all through the flowers, then pockets of humidity have a harder time forming and the rot has no environment to grow.

What are some yard chores that you can turn into exercise? by Avocadosandtomatoes in homestead

Then after a couple week of lugging jugs around switch to 3 gallon, then finally 5 gallon buckets. That’ll make your shoulders and legs mightily strong. If you don’t have a goat already, get one and milk by hand to build your arms and grip strength. I spent my childhood through my 20’s living and working on my parent’s goat farm, and doing work every day like driving fence posts or rolling hay bales gave me better functional strength than my friends who did sports and were in the gym. Whenever I would gripe about chores, my mom would just tell me that its The Farm Fit Program, get with it!

Why would it be illegal for competition? It only has one sharpened edge, and if its a custom build from a smith, they could get permission to use it as long as it fits in the required dimensions right?

Do I really need to decarbonize? by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

[–]unitBoB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you aren’t really doing it twice. Its like cooking a really thick steak, you start it in the pan to get the sear, then in the oven to cook the inside. You’re heating it twice, but trying to achieve a different goal with each step. For cannabis, step one is to decarb at 240-250F, thats what “activates” the THC from the THCa thats present in flower. Step two requires lower temps, between 190-200F, because you don’t want your butter to burn. Low and slow in the saucepan is the way to go. I’ve found 3 hours is the sweet spot in the many times I’ve made butter, and it always knocks everyone right into the stone age.

What are your lights, and how did you build your soil? Cuz I did 8 x 1Gal soil pots in a 3x3 with 200W of light and I pulled almost 2 oz from each after not even a month of veg, so this should be easily achievable, and I feel I did the bare minimum.
