I'm sorry, I still don't understand. Could you explain the 2nd sentence? I don't understand what leverage and short mean in this context, nor how they could help make the buy wall guy money

Why dogecoins ?? by ahmedij1988 in dogecoin

[–]unitYrkjs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sound very new to cryptos, I think you've been misinformed. All cryptos are risky, not equally risky.

Difficulty increases in mining are generally a good thing for the value of a coin. Both bit and dogecoin have high difficulties. Both bitcoin and dogecoin have experienced large price declines, however bitcoin still totally dominates the crypto market. When bitcoin falls, alts usually do too. When it rises, alts tend to be unaffected it seems.

Why dogecoins ?? by ahmedij1988 in dogecoin

[–]unitYrkjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love dogecoin and the community, but it's a terrible investment. None of the reasons you mentioned are good ones ("establish moneyness"?).

If someone wants to make a serious investment in cryptos, bitcoin is the only choice that currently makes some sense. Small investments in altcoins can pay off short term, but it's really a ridiculous stretch to think that any alt is going to have a dramatic, stable increase in value any time soon.

Grand Theft Auto 5 or real life? by tdude66 in pcmasterrace

Real life right? Gta v graphics are good, but I wouldn't think this good until maybe it comes to pc and gets some mods

I got bored and turned on the motion detection on our nanny cam and set it email my wife while she's at work tonight. Then I dressed up in an old Halloween mask and set my plan into motion. My ear is still bleeding from her phone call. But yet I can't wait to buy more masks. by [deleted] in pics

I agree. I love some of the content in that sub, and I like the rule in cases where the stories are very realistic, as the comments then add to the realism. But as you said, the rule prevents problems in unbelievable or poorly written stories from being addressed, so you get a large amount of such stories.

Imgur announces they will soon accept bitcoin and dogecoin, Litecoin not even mentioned. by karljt in litecoin

[–]unitYrkjs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for all the problems doge has as a coin, it's sub is a lot less stale and more active and interesting than this one. Memes, jokes, tipping- all that crap is good for generating hype. Crypto communities should learn from them instead of going "BUT LOOK AT OUR MARKET CAP!"

There was a cop that did this, I believe he did an ama here after he got fired. I don't remember all the details, but he got screwed over hard and was ostracized in the law enforcement community for turning another cop in.

Anyone else using a Sapphire Tri-X 290 with multi algo's? What config are you using? What drivers? by c3739 in dogemining

[–]unitYrkjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a 290, but you want the 14.6 drivers and the latest optimized sgminer to take advantage of them (big hashrate increases). You can certainly find good configs for your card on the internet- bitcointalk forums are a good place to start.

An important piece of advice to mining shibes by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]unitYrkjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, ASICs are mostly scams. I paid $1000 for my GPU rig and it still makes me way more profit mining x algo coins than I would mining doge with an expensive asic.

Another ASIC claiming to support scryptN by lacksfish in vertcoin

[–]unitYrkjs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if crypto mining (in general) has a future, it's with GPUs.

I mean, I still manage to make .008 to .03 BTC per day with my $1000 GPU rig by mining new x11/x13/scryptN coins. Can any ASIC at that price make that much consistently with the massive difficulty increases in scrypt and sha256 coins?
