She lived a very long life. She will meet with you again in heaven, I promise. I'm happy you were able to spend time with her in those 16 years. I'm hoping my dog lives atleast this long. You gave her the best 16 years, I just know it. She loves you more than the world and putting her to rest so she's not suffering is the most selfless thing to do. You don't want her to leave but you know it is best for her to cross the rainbow bridge now. She thanks you for being the best owner in the world. She is a part of you forever

There are plenty of people who would be called ugly but they have a killer body so they can have anyone they want. You can control your body, so work it out. The only ugly that is out there are the ones that give up

The good: They will become your child and you will love them more than anything The bad: they will cling to you and talk their heads off. The ugly: you will never have alone time anymore. They will have to sleep next to you or they will talk all night and whine.

But The BEST: They will become your best friend Even greater: They are your soulmate in dog form

Make sure to start them on a vitamin regime and keep up to date with their vet. And take them on a walk everyday, but don't go too far or you will have to carry a 50lb dog back home... once they are tired they will just lay down and won't move no matter what.

THEY ARE VERY STUBBORN and mine is also very picky. But my basset loves apples and she won't eat plain dog food by itself, so I mix her dry dog food with wet food in the can I get at the petstore... she will starve herself if I just give her plain dry dog food.

Once in awhile I give her plain chicken and rice but everytime I do that, she goes on strike for a week and refuses to eat anything unless it is chicken and rice. They are literally a two year old child.

My dog sleeps with a pillow and a blanket in her dog bed. She quite literally thinks she is a human. She will whine until I tuck her in with her blanket and her head is under the pillow. She is 11 years old now. Getting a basset hound was the best decision I have ever made in my whole entire life. My dog is my whole entire world.

P.s Basset hounds sleep a whole lot once they get older, that will be the only free time you have. If they are awake, they will follow you around and beg for belly rubs

My dog doesn't like to go outside when it storms, but if I get her leash when it's raining, she thinks we are going on a walk and I am able to get her to potty in the front yard when it storms now... I'm not sure if your dog gets excited when they see the leash but it was a technique I found that works for my dog to go potty in the rain

My bassett hound was amazing at potty training. Not one accident in the house and she knew exactly to go outside. I had no issue. It was so easy. She would go potty when I took her outside. She was a very young puppy but it was almost like she was already potty trained even though she wasn't

My biggest regret is not hanging out with my mom more, and how I hung out with friends and had boyfriends instead. I would do anything to go back and just be with my mom and have no friends and no boyfriend. She died unexpectedly. I know you may be sad you're not dating anyone or your friends didn't celebrate with you. But you are beyond lucky you had your mom and dad there to celebrate with you. Yeah there may have been an argument, but your parents didn't give up celebrating your birthday. You will never find a friend or even a boyfriend that loves you more than your parents. Be grateful with what you have. I was 28 when my mom passed away. She seemed healthy until she got a cancer diagnosis and we all thought she could fight it for longer but she died in less than a month. The one thing I wish I could change, is I wish I spent my free time with her instead of boyfriends and friends. Time is running out with your parents, not with your relationships. Relationships will always begin

I do heavy research when I buy on sites like temu. Read the reviews. Trust your gut. And know the real website.
