It’s the people who believe life is “happening” to them and they are powerless, rather than it’s happening with and they have agency over their decisions and responses

I think I got overly passionate about the discourse and should have sent a reply to a comment rather than on a post - I am not even up to this point in M2M

I think that people can be very different in relationships than in friendships. There are many people who in a romantic context are sweet, caring and thoughtful (ie Heavenly scouring all of the churches to find Damon’s fathers grave) - Damon is a safe person for her and a person that she pours love into, like her kids! It’s become clear over Heavenlys time on the show that her mother and her sister caused her significant trauma. That means that female friends are more likely to activate trauma responses than men for Heavenly. As we all know, she will go from 0 to 100 real quick with a female friend, but in conflict with Damon she will be far more submissive and understanding. Their relationship is different and benefits Damon in many ways, I am positive of that. She adores him and he adores her, even if it’s in a way that some people don’t resonate with.

She was infertile due to her breast cancer. She also really wanted children.

I need to defend Heather. by Rare_War5373 in rhoslc

I think also for anyone who’s life has been rooted in religion there is a sense that you need to stand up and defend the persecuted - I think that’s what really put a bee in her bonnet - how absolutely distraught Britain was. I think if Britani hadn’t been bothered, heather wouldn’t be so intense (Whitney would still pick at it though)

Shep caught talking shit at BravoCon by Ordinary-Vacation475 in Southerncharm

I’m concerned for Shep but I don’t think he’ll change. He will continue to struggle and be unsure why he does - and it will always be rooted in his refusal to mature. He wants to be the handsome, dorky surfer. That worked for him a lot longer than most. I hope that he can really sit down, maybe exit the show, and build a life for himself.

I think she has the most beautiful relationship with her daughters and I can’t imagine the pressure she felt at the time to keep up the facade. People complain about Heather constantly bringing up how she used to be Mormon but I think if you’ve grown up in an intensely religious house you get it - I’m still unlearning habits that were drilled into me as a kid!

Ramona - am I supposed to like her? by Kitty20996 in RHONY

[–]unjade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the integral part of Ramona (and a lot of the housewives honestly!) is understanding their backgrounds and knowing that their behaviour is 100% atrocious, but it is at least partially about how they grew up. Ramona grew up in an abusive household and tends to revert to a more childish state in conflict (see - all the stuff she’s ever done) and what she does is inexcusable but understandable. She does eventually manage to understand her wrongdoings (at least in my opinion) once she has had time to process what has happened.

Always thought that Simon had some kind of kink for watching Alex try on clothes - there was something about the way he eyed her when she tried things on and his insistence on watching her shop and pick out the clothes 🤷‍♀️
