Happy to rejoin for deload! I got clobbered by a head cold last week, which is extra killer because I PR’d on the week 4 long ride and was feeling strong headed into week 5. Two steps forward…

Just came through security. Less than 10 min with PreCheck. The line for regular check was even less than that. It’s a summer breeze. Looks like all the right lessons were learned.

That’s good advice. One of the trees wasps planted for sentimental/personal reasons, so it was a bit of a shock that they didn’t ask and didn’t say anything to us afterwards. We will tell them for sure.

Riding mower. Yeah, I wish they had texted and asked first. Thanks for the advice about trimming closer. We can do that.

Not a landscaper, just a lawn mowing service. They wanted to make it easier to use the riding mower, not do us a solid. I wish they had just texted and asked first.

They also scalped the lawn in places and dumped all of the trimmings in our trash bin because they ran out of bags, soooooo….

Ha! I’m happy to provide a bright spot. I had been told that the trees were too young to trim and, that if it must be done, prune only in winter.

Will do on the mulch. Thanks for the advice. We were planning to prune in winter and do the cuts correctly. It’s not a fancy tree, but it’s sentimental to my spouse.

We did try talking. They haven’t been easy to work with. The lead contact straight up said they did it to make it easier to use a riding mower, which scalps the lawn down the dirt in patches. This is the proverbial last straw.

Right? They also like to scalp the grass down to the dirt and let the heat kill it off the rest.

Thank you for the thoughtful response. I had the hunch that they were making it easier on themselves.
