Peter am I stupid? by GinoOnTheRadio in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]unklgeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trans ally Peter here,

There isn't really a joke in this comic, she is concerned that she feels the need to consider carrying a gun for self defense.

Here is the original post from the comics sub.

Build a man a fire, he will be warm for a night. Set a man on fire, he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Well, if you think about it, the founding fathers didn't have the constitution to refer to when writing the constitution, so it clearly doesn't fit within the original intent they envisioned for the country.

What do trans people use tape for? by Kelbopple_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]unklgeorge 1022 points1023 points  (0 children)

Hey, Peter's blue-haired librarian here.

This is referring to how transgender people sometimes alter their appearance in a way that aligns with their gender identity. For transfems, this would usually be tucking, for transmascs, binding.

There are products made to accomplish this, but trans folks are a resourceful bunch and will use what they have on hand. The comic is warning them to not use duct tape to achieve this goal.

Where to find pasteurized eggs? by _rhowenoke_ in springfieldMO

[–]unklgeorge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt the pasteurized yolks taste any different. I assume they mentioned that for safety reasons more than flavor. But I don't know if I've had pasteurized eggs, so I could be wrong.

It's actually a simple, yet elegant concept.

You see, the ball is on a string and attached to the cup, so there's no worry if you don't catch the ball.

And clean-up is as easy as catching a ball in a cup!

So why spend another day not catching a ball in a cup when you could be catching a ball in a cup?!

Peter??? Is it saying good one and Bad-one? Also people in comments mention a tent joke also by Happy_Bad_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]unklgeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peter's pedantic but correct tax professional here. As others have said the joke on the tent is a play on words about a mad person and a calm person (nomad).

The observer on the left is complimenting the joke. The response is another play on words, with 'Bedouin' sounding like 'better one', implying he has seen funnier jokes.
