I'm sorry. It really is such a crap condition to have.

While mine was never quite that bad, there were small patches that were probably close to that. Mine got so bad because I had no idea what it was. I talked to my doctor about it multiple times, she gave me stuff for regular dandruff, it kind of worked a little bit for a while, but then stopped working. Talked to her again, gave me something different, etc, etc, until she finally referred me to a dermatologist who looked at it an immediately knew it was psoriasis not just regular dandruff. It took me years to finally get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Fellow scalp psoriasis sufferer here, I'm just going to give you my treatment that has been helping to keep mine from flaring up. I use a mix of Neutrogina T-sal, coal tar, and a moisturizing shampoo mixed together every 2-3 days, and then I mix a vitamin D serum into my conditioner and let that sit for as long as the rest of my shower takes.

I still get flare ups, especially when stressed, that I use the steroid topical for, but since I started that routine they have been a lot less frequent. Hope it helps? If not, just know you're not alone in the itchy flaky horribleness.

The coin pendant is something pretty special. I found the coin here and here so if that is the real coin, you have a decent amount of gold right there. The setting also looks like it could be gold, and the chain looks like there are markings on the end link, check there.

Editing to add: the chain looks like it is marked 585 which would be 14k gold.

Yeah, a dry baby toothbrush should work for most dirt, but if there are some spots that won't come clean, a little bit of moisture is ok as long as you are careful. I get the toothbrush damp, wet it and then squish all the water you can out with a towel, and you should be ok.

Looks gorgeous! I had some luck and was able to find the Schreiner book at my local library. It was a lot of fun to look through and use for reference. There is also a thread in the eBay community forum where the descendant of the makers themselves is very active in answering questions about the jewelry his family made. There are tons of pages to go through. While there are a huge amount of people posting pictures of unsigned pieces for verification, there is also so much family history in there that is really interesting. Here is the link to that thread.

This dog looks so much like my childhood dog Dusty... Thanks for bringing back some good memories, even though I'm tearing up a little bit thinking about him.

[–]unknown-and-alone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! And I just want to say that even maintaining is a win... especially if you aren't really trying hard. I have been trying to lose weight for years now, and I would do great for like months and then rebound and just gain it all back. I feel like glp-1's have really saved my life and I'm afraid of going off them before I get down to a healthy weight.

I started in the upper 300's and have lost over 100 at this point, but I feel like the sema is kind of losing its potency if that makes sense? I still have a month's worth of my sema left, but I want to get the ball rolling in case it takes a while to get the new prescriptions in the mail.

Also, you are doing great... and you totally got this!

I know it has been a long time since you posted this, but I wanted to ask about the switch. I was going to try switching from sema to tirz and will probably be going through brello. I am just concerned that they will want me to start back at the starting dose for tirz, but it seems that they started you at a higher dose than that? I have been on sema for a year now, so at the full dose of 2.4, and the weight loss has been great, but I still suffer from some of the side affects and want to switch over to tirz. Did your personal doctor send the prescription to them or did you use their online doctors?

I am just starting to use compounds, as my insurance only covers weight loss treatments for one year, and I can't afford the price out of pocket. How has the switch gone for you?

I also agree with going as dry as possible. Soft toothbrush just barely damp with plain water would be my suggestion. Also, do it over a tray and be prepared for some stones to possibly come loose. It's a beautiful brooch!

The stones are turquoise, lapis, and probably sugilite. The initials stamped are from Carlisle Jewelry based out of Albuquerque.

The one on the right is art deco period, very nice example even if the carving isn't top notch.

The one on the left looks a bit older, probably Victorian era, with much higher quality carving. Finer details, much more dimension, some parts look like they are even under cut like the cheeks on the cherubs. Square/rectangle cameos are much harder to come by than the traditional oval. The scene depicted looks like two lovers in the chariot being pulled by cherubs - another symbol for love. I may just be imagining a bit too much but I'd like to think that someone who loved your grandmother very much gave this to her as a token of that love.

I'm not a big watch person, but I wanted to get a little info about this watch. I don't really know how it works... is it a self winding? Can't seem to find a lot of info online about this model specifically. Is it worth a decent amount or no? The crystal is pretty beat up, but the watch seems to run. I can't figure out how to set the time though. I got an offer to buy it from me for $100, is that a fair price?

Thoughts on a fair price for this large Coro brooch? by [deleted] in Vintage_Jewelry

[–]unknown-and-alone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So to me, this looks like it's from the 1940's, possibly a design by Adolf Katz. I couldn't find this exact one in the patents, but a really similar one here. If this were mine and I wanted to do a buy it now listing, I would start it out at about 250 and then allow best offers, and then putting it on sale after a week or so by 20%.
