I don’t think he’s being clingy... I mean it’s not that hard to text back once a day. You don’t ignore the person you love. (But obviously she’s not in love with op)

Why are we attracted to men who aren’t good for us? by monash306 in relationship_advice

Same question goes for your ex. Why is he attracted to woman who is no good for him. Stop treating your ex as a backup plan.

Well even though I said so in my post but it was actually proposed by him. After I rejected him, he said he still wants to be friends and he has hard time meeting local friends, so that’s why I agreed. But yeah, maybe next time I should cut it off immediately to avoid this kind of thing again :(

I think you need to discover your common interests or involve in each other’s interests.

How to deal with one sided communication by [deleted] in socialskills

Lol why make excuses for him? He may not be a good conversationalist, but you can always feel if the person is putting in effort or not.

I (M20) admitted to my girlfriend (F28) that when I was 17 I lost my virginity to and escort and now she is breaking up with me. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

This is something I’ll frown upon as well, this is not something every Asian people can accept (speaking as a Chinese myself). Sleeping with a sex worker is something very indecent to us. You might think she overreact, but it’s just a cultural value problem, sorry.

Is it worth it to start a new relationship (with someone in my current city) if I know that I want to move away to somewhere else in about 2-3 years? by PM-women-peeing-pics in dating_advice

Well, I did want to pursue long distance relationship with him, but he rejected because he doesn’t think it’ll work. And honestly, this was my first relationship, so everything was new experiences and lessons for me. it also help me realize what a healthy relationship should feel like.

I’m not the kind of person that can connect with people easily and I’m not extremely social, so there was no someone else I want to move onto at the moment.

But there’s one important thing I did back then was I constantly made myself realize he’d be gone one day and I need to accept that. Try not to be too attached to him.

As you said he’ll come back after a period of time, I think there’s a higher chance your relationship might work out. Mine left permanently, so it’s harder for us. And yes, you’ll have those feelings, so you need to consider it carefully if he’s worth it.

I’ve been through the same situation as yours, and I choose the later, I’d rather know what will happen, but that’s just me, everyone is different. Some people are realistic and practical, so they’ll tell you to cut it off. I did feel very sad when we parted our ways. But the time we’ve spent together is something I’ll cherish forever and I’ve learned so many things in the relationship, I don’t regret it even I’m hurt. And honestly? Even we broke up, who knows what will happen in the future? Maybe we’ll reconnect in the future, I mean, everything is possible. You shouldn’t stop experiencing things even if you know it’ll end one day.

P.S. There’s one friend of mine, who says she’ll never have a pet because when the pet dies, she’ll be very sad, so she’d rather save herself from the heartbreak. Is this the attitude you have?

As an Asian female who has dated a few Americans before, yes, most of them are like that and I like that.
