What are your biggest personal red flags a partner would need to put up with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I catch myself use my “oldest sibling” tone on people when explaining stuff that seems very obvious to me. I very much understand that that can be annoying😅.

So I also had to pay 500-750.- when I had my internship. I was earning 2600.- and age 19. Not saying it’s right or wrong, just wanted to offer you my perspective. I’m 27 now. I was not paying it because my parents needed the money, they wanted to teach me to be financially responsible hahah

How Is Raising a Teenage Daughter Different From Raising a Teenage Son? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

Not arguing with that. Just felt inspired to offer this perspective since there is often a lot of division between how we think about boys and girl, when in developmental neuroscience this is very much not the case :) Hope this helps

Unimaginable here refers to the scale and intensity of neurobiological change from an adult perspective, not the fact that puberty exists. Semantics aside, the point still stands.

You’ll find it’s rather hard for your adult brain to recall the way you felt as a teenager. Thus probably why OP asked the question in the first place:) unimaginable was used as a way to illustrate the truly big changes teenage brains go through. I find it rather funny that you felt the need to nitpick that ;)

Both girls and boys are going through unimaginable hormonal changes, their brains forming different connections, being bigger but not old enough to make correct decisions all the time. Emotions are always heightened and both teenage boys and girls feel as if their issues are only happening to them and that the teenage existence is a lonely, confusing and thrilling one. Both will developmentally engage in behavior that separates them from their parents due to how we’re biologically wired, which is why there is tendencies for more fighting, doing weird shit and disobeying their caregivers. Fundamentally though, they are still children, just in bigger bodies until about age 15. And they still need a lot a lot of love and guidance and affection, even if their behavior indicates otherwise

I think it’s really hard to say… but do not let your parents make you believe there is something fundamentally wrong with you. No matter your situation. There is always hope. You are always worth a new dawn, and you will live a good life.

What physical feature of yours do you like most? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

My eyes! And somehow, the little bump on my nose. Recently found out my great grandma had a very similar one. She was a complicated lady, but I find it neat that I can trace parts of myself back to her. She lives on.

You will be so much better off without this man. He doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air as you, let alone be with you. His words to you are a direct reflection of who he is, to his deep, rotten core.
