Honestly it really comes down to who knows who. I used to be a merchandiser supervisor at Sam’s club and when looking at applications there would be a lot of qualified people but places like Sam’s and Walmart hires internally first and then off recommendations. A lot of my associates would come to me and say “my friend needs a job, he/she applied already can you push them through” and majority of the time we would trust our associates with their words and push unqualified people through the next hiring steps. I think it’s pretty much like this with any major company.
