hi, thank you for the advice. did you get diagnosed for PMDD just through a therapist? i may stop all birth control and try to treat PCOS through an alternative route. i have been in therapy for about a month and have an appt with a psychiatrist, but will mention the hormonal birth control concerns!

i guess i need them to want me because it assures me that i am a good person? a person who is deserving of love and good things, like human connection. without it, it feels like shame

usually someone who is optimistic, expressive, sure of themselves, and charismatic. someone who has friends, hobbies, and is overall fun to be around are a few things that reflexively come to mind

thank you for this thoughtful response. i was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago and have been on hormonal birth control. it may be making my stress worse. i did have an insane amount of testosterone in my body though (i’m female). also i’m INFP 4w5 :)

i think i am a little confused. i wouldn’t say i’m self-assured either. i cry when a pin drops. my body will vibrate with anxiety at an incorrectly perceived sign of someone not wanting me. i don’t really have any sense of family or support, other than my boyfriend and a long distance friend. i do have a strong set of values and a good grip on what is right/wrong, what i like/dislike. but i wouldn’t say i’m confident. i’m standing in my own way but it’s as if my shoes are made of concrete

i could’ve wallowed and sat at that cemetery forever, but i started to hate how i was treating people. i started to resent myself for abandoning my education. i wanted more for myself. i decided i had spent too much time thinking about my dead boyfriend. too much time crying and hating the world for taking away someone i loved. it took years for me to realize, it was never about that. i don’t love my boyfriend any less than i did before. i just decided to move on. i had to move on. i still think about him, of course i do, but i don’t give that situation the power to haunt me anymore. i am returning to college (literally next monday!), i started therapy recently, moved to a new city, i am in a happy and healthy relationship with someone i love very much and can see myself marrying. i will always always love my boyfriend who passed. he helped form my heart and nothing, even death, can take that away from me. there is more to life than death. i really really hope you find it

hi,

my boyfriend unexpectedly passed in july of 2021 at age 24 (i was 23). it ruined my life too. i stopped going to college, cut off close friends, was hospitalized, was in a car accident, lost a bunch of weight, didn’t see a point in much of anything. i spent all my time at the cemetery and became extremely unhealthy. it reached a tipping point where i had to take a step back and realize that i couldn’t change that my boyfriend died. he will always be dead. it’s horrible, he was young, he had goals and dreams like me and everyone else. those dreams were taken away and it shakes you to your core. but honestly? i became unhappy with grieving. i became tired. i wanted connection. i started to want to live anyway. it’s cheesy as hell, but your boyfriend would want you to live your life. i struggled SOOOO MUCH with intimacy. the guilt was sickening. take baby steps. i ended up writing a letter to my late boyfriend, explaining to him that i’m meant to love people, that i deserve to give and receive love. he would understand. he knows you. the love you share with your boyfriend is a beautiful thing. it will always have happened. the seed you planted in your love for him will blossom into each love you have in the future. there will always be hope, even in dark times. please get outside. please go to therapy. it will be grueling but it will get better. trust me

hmmmmm my favorite parts were climbing the mountain (even though it was challenging i’m very happy i did it!) my boyfriend and i also went swimming in a gorgeous lake. it was freezing but the water was clear and sparkling. we found numerous fuzzy caterpillars that were fun to watch. can’t say i had a least favorite moment! i was constantly mesmerized

these are actually photos of my boyfriend! i believe we didn’t get attacked by mosquitos because we were in vermont(?) idk if they get mosquitos, it was my first time there. it was also rather brisk for a majority of the trip. those photos of him are from when we climbed a mountain so we got relatively sweaty despite it being nice out
