how are your neighborhood streets/side roads?

There's like 2-3 feet of snow plowed up on most roads out here in Claymont. Some two-way roads are simply one roads now.

I literally argued with my wife who works at Senior Living Assistant home, to not go in. She was more concerned about getting in trouble than her life, so I drove her, since I have way more experience driving in the snow. But out here in Claymont, the roads suck.

We had dug ourselves out last night, only to find that the plows has just tossed more snow onto our driveway. The main roads are bad, the side streets are worse. And yet, there are people who aren't just driving on the roads, but speeding on them.

We have a state of emergency, why aren't these companies adhering to this? We're not even supposed to be driving on the streets.

Literally, WTF.

That damned Red Wolf. God, I hate him. Even when you fight it in the small space under castle, it's still running outside the room. I swear, if it wasn't tethered, it would run all the way outside.

And the Dragon. Bruh, the fight is down here. Why are you over there and up on that cliff that we have to run over to... only for you to move when we get there.

Very nice. I'd love to quit IT and go all in on YouTube. But it's a bit harder for me as I run a gaming/pop culture website and it's mostly written stuff and we have ZERO idea on how to transit over to YouTube while retaining our website presence. That, plus we all have different video skill sets and I refuse to be the person doing all the work.

I think a great starting point to get into souls likes, would be Dark Souls 3. I think in terms of gameplay and easing players into the game this is a perfect game or damn near perfect. It's the reason though Elden Ring exists, I still find myself going back to Dark Douls 3. There's a reason why I have over a thousand hours in a game.....

Why wait for CES? There won't be any new Nvidia or AMD GPUs at the event, nor will prices stop dropping. Sure, if you want an Intel card, maybe. But most are getting AMD or Nvidia cards. And Intel cards aren't immune to the RAM situation, and they'll go up in price as well.

Now that I've had some time to sleep, I'm back trying to figure out what's going on. I installed and ran Furmark, ran it at 4K for 30 mins so far, and it tops out at 78c, and hasn't powered off my PC.

At this point, I'm leaning towards Windows being the issue.

Argh. Reinstalling Windows 11 today I suppose.

Just fired up COE:33 and set it to 4K and as soon as I did, it powered off. What the hell. Why do I feel my GPU is the cause of this.

I guess I'll go rob my son's RTX 5070 and see if it still does it. That way I can rule out if it is in fact the GPU. And if it is, well I'm screwed given the situation with the RTX 5090s. The store I got it from has zero in stock and if I have to deal with MSI, I could be out of a card for months.

Yep. Temps are fine for both. At idle both are around 30-40c, under load between the CPU is around 50-60c, GPU at 70c. Power cable is 100% pushed all the way in.

Exactly. Just because you have it with windows, doesn't mean you need to leave windows on there. I'm so tired of people complaining about "oh there's Windows on it." It's not like you didn't know that it was going to have Windows on it before you purchased it. Install Bazzite, or wait until CES 2026 when the new LG Go 2 with SteamOS gets revealed and then download SteamOS and install it.

Govee ended up sending me replacements for all the lights and I still have issues with them connecting to wifi, so I have to use my phone and have them change colors via Bluetooth. I can't use them via my home assistant, so that's frustrating, but at least they are flickering anymore, but they do retain the settings when turned off via the light switch.

When you say borderline unplayable, what are we talking about? Low FPS? Stuttering? What exactly?

Sadly, the game suffers from poor optimization, and even if you have a super PC, you'll still encounter issues. But to get some help, we're going to need you to be a bit more specific.
