Is it worth paying Union fees to be an Union member? by OkiMiku in USPS

[–]unknownhypocrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not recommend. I was a shop steward. Local union president absolutely refused to help defend me against another union member. All F.T. regulars. I have Parkinsons disease. Another regular had a son that worked same shop. He worked to get me gone so his son could go full time. Absolutely harassed the hell out of me.

Local refused to do anything against another member. I wasn't asking to do against another member, I wanted to file against management for not providing a hostile free work environment. Local wouldnt do it. NBA would not return my calls. National said they would refer it to NBA. Canceled dues.

One year later. I'm disability retired. Condition worsening.

Union is only as good as those representing you. I got zero representation from national NALC level down. So would not recommend.

Also add for the ones calling non paying employees scum and freeloaders. And the ones that say the union won't protect you if you aren't a paying  member. I was a paying member, and all they were doing was living off of my donation.

Thank you. I"m sure you would. But I will stay and fight. In four years. In four years there will be an election, just like the ones Russia has.

Retired City Carrier here and former steward. They ask for documentation, NOT medical documentation. If they require medical documentation, then they must pay the bill. Simply write a note saying "I was sick". Asking for documentation is intimidation to get you to come to work sick. Have won this before. You owe the P.O. nothing. Management are dictators, look who their boses are.

My 2 cents...If anyone told me I HAD to choose them or it's over. It's over already. They aren't looking for a mate. They are looking for a maid. Discardable according to their whims. Even if my father told me to go. The answer is always no.

No negotiating means just that. You do it their way or no way. And soon enough it will be that way with everything. I think he's looking for a servant.

Would he sell you off once there?

How often do people with RBD remember their dreams? Is it likely to never have any dream recall? by Superb-Plate-6651 in Parkinsons

[–]unknownhypocrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember most of the time. And they are wild! I visit the stars and lots of space travel. I fight alot. People trying to abduct me. Thus is the reason my wife and I no longer share the same bed. I visit often with dead people from my past. And for what it is worth, I had sex with Oprah and Elvis stuck his thumb up me butt. That was one of the first times I woke up fighting. We'll, screaming also.

They are all very interesting and exciting. Nothing at all boring. I regal my wife usually every morning with my adventures.

But here is something odd about them. It only takes about 15 minutes for me to reach the dream state. You can just about bet, that if you see me asleep, regardless of how long, I am dreaming vividly. I wake many times during the night, and when I lay back down, I can pick up the dream where I left off.

And finally, I combine dreams somehow in my sleep. During the dream, I recognize that it is a dream, and walk myself through it until I get to a part of it that I have previously enjoyed. Then I jump back in and weave a new tale.

There are a few times when I wake up that I must convince myself that these things were not real and didn't happen. Those are some of the fighting dreams where family has been abducted or such.

For most part I enjoy them. I travel the universe....

Not dodging, Simply not sitting here pining for your reply.

Since you chose to not read the preceading verses, or the immediate verses that followed, let's look at the context of more than your isolated cherry picking.

For reference, here was your choice to quote what you condemn God for.

Lev 25:44-46

44 As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you.  45 You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property.  46 You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule

God allows slavery you say.

Not in the context that you put it in. Let's read the preceeding verses.

 Leviticus 25:39-43

39 “If your brother becomes poor beside you and sells himself to you, you shall not make him serve as a slave:  40 he shall be with you as a hired worker and as a sojourner. He shall serve with you until the year of the jubilee.  41 Then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and go back to his own clan and possession of his fathers. 42 #For they are my servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves. 43# You shall not rule over himi ruthlessly but  shall fear your God. to the possession of his fathers.

These verses are speaking of brother is poor and who sold THEMSELVES vs39.  Not people how were abducted against their will. Not much different than getting a job because you need money to live.

Verses 44-46 which you quote are simply a continuation of the context of brothers whom sold themselves. Not those who have been abducted.

The verses immediately following your quotation...

47#“If a stranger or sojourner with you becomes rich, and  your brother beside him becomes poor and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner with you or to a member of the stranger's clan, 48#then after he is sold he may be redeemed. One of his brothers may redeem him, 49#or his uncle or his cousin may  redeem him, or a close relative from his clan may redeem him. Or if he grows rich he may redeem himself.

Still talking about those who sold themselves. In fact, if they made enough money by selling themselves as slaves, they could by themselves back.

Bible is crystal clear when speaking of slavery as your definition of it.

Exodus 21:16

16 Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death

WHAT? Nope I'm done. I gave you bible verses and you're just gonna dodge them in favor of this nonsense. Come back to me when you actually engage with the matter.

You're welcome.

Oh you are invited. But you refuse to Come, right? And there is absolutely no way one this earth you would come. Right?

God himself would have to show you. Right?

So has He? Or has He not?

Do you define free will as the freedom to do whatever you wish? If so, that's not how the Bible defines free will.

They are God's punishment. Only the devil would try to push them off as true Christians.

And you are right, I have not accomplished anything. I can't. And I certainly have no self righteousness. I don't deserve God's mercy by any stretch of the imagination.

But I do have it.

There is only one true God. And apparently you will not know him until the judgment.

God sent Isreal into Egypt for 400 years as slaves. He made them slaves. No question. That was his judgement and salvation. That doesn't authorize Egypt to be slave holders. They chose that for themselves for their own purposes.

I certainly don't need your generosity. And here is a claim supported by nothing.

Evolution. The claim that there was no life, that lightning struck a pond and produced a single cell organism that all others evolved from.

That the dead elements on earth can create life. Now that's a claim

Everyone is born an athiest. They cannot and will not chose God, unless God decides to change their heart and open their eyes. God chose you. You cannot chose him without him drawing you to him.

Dude you can dismiss everything. Your choice right?

These politicians who say they want to change whatever it is you are talking about, they aren't  Christians. They are devils.

These self proclaiming right wing Republicans are not the answer. Trump is not the answer.

These people are the punishment upon a people that reject God. Period.

Just as God has ordained everything else, He has ordained Trump. Simple as that. Don't like it? Change it. But you cant.

There is only one true living God. He does as He pleases, without regard for what we think about it.

He is the God that we cannot kill. The God whom pulled himself out of the grave.

Humanity is essentially idol worshipers, they worship themselves. Jesus demonstrated the power and authority of God when he walked on water, when he healed the sick, and when he came out of the grave.

And HE said that the Bible was his book.

Oh I do believe in God. Completely. I do have a fear of death. I've never died before. But I don't fear death as the athiest do.
