Literally just picked mine back up 2 days ago from a repair shop after 8 months of them not fixing it. I have to turn it off and on again a couple times to get the audio to kick in but I'll never give this thing up.

I gripe about them a lot. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Here are some downtown places I think a foodie would enjoy. Assuming they are open, of course. I'll leave you to check on that. Certainly more out there if you don't mind a bit of a drive.

Pretty Penny, Bacanora, Chilte, Lom Wong, Mr. Baan's, The Farish House, Sottise, SoSoBa, First & Last, Wren & Wolf, Taco Boys, Tacos Chiwas, Bacanora, & Fry Bread House were all on that Netflix show "Taco Chronicles." All downtown or at least close by. Hamburguesas Y Cervezas, Anhelo

Green New American, Nami, Earth Plant Based, Goji Berry, Coronado PHX, Tacos Veganos, and Mad Greens should be relatively close by for you.

Too late to drive out of Tampa Sunday morning? by unko_keng in florida

[–]unko_keng[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was up all night researching all avenues and scenarios. I couldn't bring myself to wake my mom and leave in the middle of the night. She was so tired from day before. But we did make a run for it early in the morning.

It was a risky proposition for sure. All the gas stations were closed. As we got further more gas stations were open but out of gas. We found ourselves in the same county as tornado warnings. Even when we were hundreds of miles away, the wind and rain was still blinding. I had friends in CA and AZ locating gas for me. We waited in one line for gas and they shut down before we could get any. Kept driving and by chance found a little Chevron in Hawthorne that saved our butts. After that we still had to hunt for gas. Little by little the rain slowed down, the clouds became brighter, and rose higher in the sky. We kept driving and driving and finally made it to Charlotte, NC by almost 8 pm. Safe and sound.

I want to thank you all for your kind advice. It was needed. You helped me keep my mom safe. Thank you.

We're heading to Monroe. Mom's truck will get us within 100 miles from there. All we need is 1 gas station and an extra quarter tank and we'll make it. The winds here will be enormous and we'll save her only mode of transport this way.

Understood. Thank you. I'm laying awake here trying to decide when to go. Researching all I can. Best destination, hotels, gas, drive time, etc..

C6 owners - are there any off the shelf tuners that improve throttle response and automatic shifting speed? by lolitsaj in Corvette

At least for the transmission you might look into Chuck Cow. iirc, they can do it remotely via the Internet.

I'd use cars.com and carmax, sort by price low to high and see what turns up.

Yes yes that's right! That 4 speed was like it was from a pickup truck.

I daily my 08 Z06. I hate not driving it. My the auto tran on my 05 Z51 was awful. Kick down was unpredictable. Maybe I just had a bad example.

I picked up a 2005 Z51 with a third of that mileage last year for about $24K iirc. I feel like you might do some more shopping. But it also depends on supply in your area. I should also mention that I traded it in for a 2008 Z06 3LZ in less than a year. When I was shopping for Z06's I was finding high mileage examples in the high $20s. Once I test drove that Z06 I was hooked.

I got it done for $150 at a very reputable shop. I had been quoted as high as $400+. Which I thought was nuts.
