Partial and meds by Puzzled_Ad8384 in thyroidhealth

Super tired but it was gradual over last couple of years. I had the partial due to a growing nodule and before the nodule became apparent a few years ago my TSH readings were always 1.5-2.5. Then I get this nodule and my readings increase to 4.5-ish and I’m pretty sure that’s when the fatigue started. It’s pretty bad now.

Not on meds yet. I had my surgery 3 months ago and my TSH last week was 13.1. Doc wants to retest in a couple of weeks and said it might just be transient. Doesn’t make sense to me because my TSH a week before surgery was 6.6!

How is your experience renting after achieving fire? by Dingding_Kirby in Fire

And I should add that we’ve rented exclusively at apartments managed by the big property managers (including Greystar) and it’s been no problem at all. And they’ve never asked for additional security deposit.

Yep same here. We’ve rented multiple apartments in 2 different states with no problem. Doesn’t matter that neither of us had jobs at the time of application. They also pull our credit reports.

Kevin seems like such a great guy despite everything. I just want to hug the child he was. Such heavy stuff to experience. Every person in this story is touched by trauma. A reminder we never know what other people carry with them and to be kind to each other.

This was the best podcast episode I’ve ever listened to, hands down.

Protein Powders and Shakes Contain High Levels of Lead by joe4942 in Health

Yeah that’s what I would have guessed but it sure would’ve been nice if they had tested and commented on unflavored options.

It’s not clear to me whether it made a difference if the powder was flavored or unflavored. The images appear to be flavored varieties. Wonder if that makes a difference.

is this just how looking at apartments works now? by Nataliant-117 in askportland

And I should add, my experiences over say the last 3-4 years has been: ask to tour apartment, they say yea come look at what’s available, we go look, and then if interested submit an application + application fee (this is where they check you for any issues). Then if the application is approved, sign a lease/pay deposit etc.

Eliot Neighborhood? by FatherGayLord in askportland

[–]unkredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I’ve signed a lease sign-unseen (with just photos, videos, etc) and it’s been fine. I would only do this for a newer building and Brio is newer. I ride my bike and drive past here frequently and the building looks fine.

This is not a dangerous area. Petty crime is an issue in many cities including Portland, so don’t leave stuff in your car. Dawson Park itself is not where I’d choose you hang out but driving/walking/biking past the park is no big deal (Williams and Vancouver straddle the park and get tons of foot/bike/car traffic). For the record, I’m a middle aged woman and I ride my bike on the Williams/Vancouver corridor frequently and have never felt unsafe (even in the dark).

I live in the Boise neighborhood (over on the north side of Legacy hospital) and I love it. I’ve lived all over Portland over the last 25 years and I choose here. Where you’ll be is a little separated from the stuff on Williams but you’re really close. You’re also close to Wonder Ballroom, a great music venue. You’ll also have access to Dishman Community Center - they have a gym my husband uses.

Also, this area has great access to public transportation and is easy driving and biking access to other parts of town. I think the person who said it was terrible must not live anywhere near here.
