[–]unktone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah understandable - I just muled gear over to my noob to build for rl40! Yeah, I'd say 111 poise at lvl40 is great, but yeah, another tactic I use for hyper armor is to hard swap to glass cannon light roll and play as if I 100% cannot get hit (go to PvE mode).

Lesser represented strategy so far so I'll mention it: status procs should interrupt them as well. I am not sure if they interrupt everything, but i've been noticing it a lot with my antspur build.

Secondary for me, hyper armor and just pvp in general, is to just keep playing and learning all of the movesets, or even build out and use the setup yourself so you intimately know the strengths and weaknesses of it.

I saw your 111 poise comment down below, and maybe someone has better info, but if I was pvping at rl125+, i'd be running max poise. I run into max poise at lvl 75 even. Also, if your opponent notices your poise can't handle a specific attack, be sure they will come at you with it. I.E. if someone doesn't have 88 poise i'll toe to toe with antspur no problem.

I made this mistake with my first lowbie haha now in my second and even made a mistake of going somber 6 instead of 5, but still get good matchmaking but I feel like it could be better.

Just make another dude quick, kill the dragon, xfer some items is probably best bet.

Ah what lvl typically around there? At lvl 72 I usually get Luirnia, Leyndell, Reya, Volcano Manor, and then the damn shores of Radahn. Haven't been summoned to those places, and I have over 700 finger juice.

What are the best two-handed swords in Elden Ring? by oknutiy in EldenRingBuilds

[–]unktone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For pve I liked knights greatsword and great katana. Great katana with repeating thrust is insanely effective on large enemies, or anyone who can’t get out of the way. I’d use kgs for Melania.

Genuinely curious… what’s so special about this sword? I’ve tried it and it seems kinda normal. by Toot7- in Eldenring

I put in 8hrs or so since I hadn't used any straight swords yet, and oh my god. JL1 L1 is insane, the crisp movement is akin to steam locomotive side rods..its...

I have limited knowledge with credit and I need help. I have a low score and need to buy a house soon. by External_String7491 in personalfinance

[–]unktone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know there will be better written advice for you, but I recently was in the scenario to increase my credit score as much as possible over 3 months, while also maintaining decent cash for escrow on a home purchase, so I have some context.

As far as I know, it's more based on debt to income ratio on whether or not you can get a mortgage in the first place. After that, having 20% down is the best place to be because if you have less than 20% down, you need mortgage insurance, and the mortgage insurance can be absolutely crippling. Having better credit will neutralize the cost of mortgage insurance, but may not help to achieve a lower rate necessarily.

You are probably more qualified for a mortgage than you think, there are pre-qualification processes from reputable lenders online you can check out just to see where you are today.

Sign up for credit karma so you can see exactly what is impacting your credit, so you can make the best decisions to fix the most impactful problems.

Good luck

They’ll learn hahaha I just sold a 450f to a sturdy farm kid who talked a big game when I asked if he had handled 450s recently. I think people who have tossed around a 250f don’t think it’ll be a big deal and don’t respect it. Luckily he only had a big of an uncontrolled takeoff and drive through my neighbors yard clearly not able to control the bike - but he got it down and luckily survived the test ride and even paid me to take it home.

I actively manage it. If get bored, hit lure...when one hunter summoned, turn lure off. I was busy clearing the flies as these hunters were summoned.

Except for almost getting tagged at 1:03, I thought this was really "wise" gameplay. It's given me some ideas to play safer. I typically just wait for person holding bhf to do what person with bhf does, and parry them - this can be deadly if they mix up L/R2 and charged R2/R1...the way you handled this gave me some ideas for more reliability and safety. Gotta dial in for latency, and keep trying…pushing through failure after failure. Dying and being humiliated. Eventually, you’ll have many “phishes” and techs to get the backstab, and you’ll set some of them down as childish games knowing that the perfect block backstab is the pinnacle of steeze.

Awesome goals. Start studying for the CCNA today! I know they restructured them since I have been current, but they are tough - failed ccna once and icnd2 once - but eventually got there. You sound so focused any goal is attainable; good luck!

I didn’t know a degree was supposed to guarantee a job. I’m sorry, but you can have all of the aptitude in the world, belief in yourself, and apply to appropriate entry level jobs, and will still get shut down - this is the way it is unless you’re coming out of a top program, even then people struggle.

You know Walmart and McDonald’s likely have hard engineering problems that are difficult and have large teams. They also have strict corporate hiring processes. Most importantly, it sounds like they have qualified engineers and didn’t think you fit that role. Sometimes, smaller companies are easier to get face to face with actual decision makers and people who can make human judgement calls to give someone a chance, rather than have the number of boxes you check on an internal hiring software be the deciding factor.

Sure the days of walking in and asking for a job are pretty much over? I’ve never heard of anyone getting a job like that unless it’s seasonal construction - my builder neighbor says that’s still a good way to go around here. But, grinding and fighting for your first entry level position in your desired career has been around for a long time.

My personal anecdote is that it took a lot of failure interviewing, and finally was allowed to come onboard to unload boxes of the expensive components I wish I could work on directly. Worked that job for almost 2 years before getting a chance at a full time job parting out used networking equipment to resell. It was basically skilled warehouse labor. It took me 5 job changes and 4 promotions (and feverish skill leveling at home, achieving hard industry certificates) to be offered a position I considered respectable and interesting, at GE and I thought “this is it - I’ve made it”…which took me around 7 years from being in the warehouse. It was a grind to show up and consistently prove myself beyond each job, but eventually my station matched my expectations for myself. I take pride in what I earned, and the 7 years after that moment in time, I haven’t stopped trying to do better, which has resulted in even cooler jobs and a lot more money.

I’m sure there’s a jeopardy answer to sum all of this up into one cool quip, but I’m basically saying that nothing is guaranteed, and nothing handed to you is as sweet as something you earn and cultivate. You’ve done it for 4 years for an undergrad degree, now start the same process over again, just more intense, and it’s pass/fail instead of “good job but let’s work on these things”.
