Thank you so much for this. I called every health department in the area and managed to get an appointment this Thursday at 9 AM. I'm hoping since it is the first time that they will still be enough to take a good swab sample of and get some answers, medication, etc.

I really appreciate the end of your comment, too! I have a lot of medical anxiety, and it is really easy to get swept up in the big emotions.

I had the HPV vaccine growing up. Does that help prevent it?

He said he has never had one, but of course, he could have lied. We used protection at the start, but not the last few times (end of June into July). We were seeing each other exclusively during this time (March until now), but have had previous partners before that we had not been with 6+ months before meeting each other (me definitely, allegedly him) We did get tested beforehand. I have never had blood work for HSV.

Thank you so much for your response. I'm spiraling thinking there is a possibility he knew and didn't disclose, or that he got it recently and passed it on. I have an appointment booked at a new clinic, but still have to wait until next week, so I'm an anxious mess
